Good external burning drive

    My computer's DVD is on the fritz and I don't feel like replacing the DVD drive because its a laptop.

    I am looking to buy an external burning drive and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to which model I should buy?

    I heard LG was the best of the cheap ones...

    Not a recommendation but more like an anecdote: I was at Staples looking for an external burner and had to pick between a Sony and a Memorex. The clerk pulled me aside and privately told me that the return rate on Memorex was rather high compared to Sony. I ended up with the DRX-840U and have been happy with it so far! Good luck with your search :)
