This is probably a big newbie question but here it goes. I have several..SEVERAL downloaded mpeg files. When I play these files on my pc in Power DVD, WinDVD etc. the play flawlessly. But when I use nero to burn these files to VCD it never fails when I play them back all is fine for a liitle while and then they start to freeze and go all blocky and thats it unable to view. This happens on my pc as well as 4 different DVD players. What have I done wrong to cause this? Is it the media I am useing Fujitsu and Maxell cd-r's? Or something else all together? Thanks
This is a Sure sign that who ever created these VCD/Mpeg1 files either Used to high of a Bitrate for the VCD standard or they used an encoder that doesn"t have very good Bitrate controll..... If the Bitrate is too high for your DVD Player to handle or there are Bitrate spikes the Video will Go all Choppy and the Image may Break up into Little Blocks and the audio may go out of Sync... I had this Problem all the Time when useing Tmpgenc to encode my Files to VCD because Tmpgenc has very Bad bitrate controll so the Bitrate will often Spike and when that happens your DVD Player has to suddenly spin the Disk faster so it can read the data in real time and when it can not spin if fast enough the Video Goes all Choppy...... There really isn"t anything you can do about it accept to Author the VCD Files to a DVD Instead of a CD-R...
