I found a way to use a HTPC for HD digital cable. It requires windows 7 and a fake bios, much like the activation cracks. It also requires the ATI cablecar tuner, available in both internal and external forms...but both are USB. I am still not sure about the legality (I think it violets the DMCA still)...but it is possible, and it is perfectly legal to buy the parts. The internal version of the tuner is about $250. ...That should be enough information for anyone who wants to do this to figure everythine else out on google.
