Ccleaner is an all round tool that cleans and deletes. It's a freebie, and you can get it here...

    http://www.ccleaner.com/

It's a less aggressive registry cleaner than some and asks you to backup your reg files before it sorts them out. I've used it for years and without any probs at all. I'm sure you'll like it.

    Cheers.

Another good one that wasn't free at the time nor are any other version's but this is now: http://www.vnunet.com/vnunet/downloads/2231665/tuneup-utilities-2007 (later version's not needed anyway) Bought it year's ago and not aggressive at all, has a lot of other feature's too, start up manager, optimizer, scheduled maintenance and more. A really aggressive one is RegSeeker but be careful with it, I only select to delete the green entries and in a search of specific program's, be careful what you delete, other program's have similar entries that can wreck a system if deleted.

Words to live by and hey to mistycat btw. :)

Make a system restore point if you can, at least that way you have some chance of recouping a messed up OS if if anything negative happens.

Hey there. I have deleted everything RegSeeker find's with no ill effect's but have read of other's who weren't so lucky. If I couldn't image back in case, I wouldn't have done it. Backup's can't alway's be relied on to work but I've never heard anything negative about CCleaner or TUU.

I agree with ccleaner. It works well and very easy to use. Always good practice to make a backup of your registry in case something goes wrong.
