After close to 5 years of calling this forum HOME, its with deep regret that I must now say goodbye to everyone. It seems that this forum has turned the corner in the wrong direction and the passing of information is becoming more and more difficult. Threads are being closed and removed and members banned over petty items that should have never been a problem of that nature. The FTA threads in this section seem to be a big target of the moderators. If for some reason there are legal issues involved, then those legal issues should have been explained clearly. We all know that new laws get passed and subjects need to be deleted at times as happened several years back. Programs like DVDSHRINK and DVD DECRYPTER had to be removed along with many others. If this is the case then we should have been given reasons. Several of my friends were banned that had more combined knowledge on FTA receivers than any other site I belong to, and I do belong to many sites. There were suggestions that one member was pimping his new site. That site was opened only because files could not be up-loaded to Afterdawn unless a file sharing site was also used. The main discussions were always on Afterdawn and we in no way suggested that members leave this site to join the OTHER site except to get necessary file downloads. We all enjoyed our talks here on AD. Now you have forced many members off this site permanently, some by banning them and others that will follow them for the proper information needed. I read all threads invloved and things should have been handled in a different manner. It seems to me there was a general gang up on those members banned. This final post may get me banned also but I have no reason to return to Afterdawn anyway. I will also PM this to Drd so if it gets deleted, he will still get a copy of it. Goodbye to those I have considered FRIENDS for 5 years.

True. they could have warned them a bit more instead of permanent suspension. people got a lot of 2 day just for asking for codes and these were clueless newbies. the rules changes too fast without warning and we were expected to know. it's like you miss one day and one rule and you're gone. you have to be very cautious about the site and rules.

    Jerry ,
Thanks for everything mate but dont Write AD off over a bad month.. Coz really all the madness happened from april.
Just imagine the volume of trafic in the first week alone when other sites simply shut down for a while,
I have only been a member for a short time compared to you but its the Addicts and those of the same ilk that make the site what it is.
    And its greatly appreciated !!!
While I agree that reasons for changes should be given - This site has and remains a great source of information for all people that require help and general info.

Anyway just my tupence worth -

    T .

    Hey Jerry
I just signed in, after being gone for quite a while. So sorry to hear of the losses to the best forum ie Blkstare, Billo, and the rest of them, (that was closed May 25), for information. What a loss of talent and they didn't even appreciate it! Hopefully, I will find you, and the rest of the crew, elsewhere, as I too, am leaving AD for good, also, because of that. Thanks for all your advice, and see you somewhere along the way.

What? having a sulk because it's no longer possible to post codes which enable theft of services, and pointless duplication posts? Sorry Jerry.. I respect you but seriously.

If that's how ytou see it then have a good one. I had a bit of a strop last year too and decided to turn it around and make a point which has benefitted everyone.

Up to you, but you don't see celtic and scouser having a wobbler about nowt. As a vet you should well understand that sometime you get shit on, and sometimes things suck.. but it's how we rise above it that makes us who we are...

More power to you.. there is always a place in my heart for you.

I can see how he feels about the people being banned but it's the internet and all they need to do is make another username and come back anyway. Sure they'll have to start on newbie but if they're good they won't take long to become Afterdawn Addict. No point leaving over something stupid. Best of luck Jerry.

steo2k8 when people get banned their ip get's banned so there is no just makeing a new user name, unless they get a new isp, but most of the times the so called newbee can't keep their mouths shut and they get banned again!

your ip adress is the adress you get from your broadband provider,so unless you change provider it is impossible to rejoin under a new user name.

Why has this discussion gone over to IP's? AD doesn't IP ban people.. I don't think their code allows it easily, and anyway, we would just be back through a proxy in minutes XD

actually no.. I would only use it to burn down rich peoples holiday homes in my homeland. I can do that just fine with what can be found on site ;)
Am I alone in not owning or wanting a vehicle?
Anyroad.. that sounds rich coming from somebody who in all likelihood runs a paid for operating system on paid for hardware..
I'm free.. only things I paid for to be here are internet connection and power to run it on

    Not true.

I read a thread, where the same person came back using 10-15 acconts.
Only banned by name not ip. They just laugh at the ban.

Wrong. Not hard to change your ip.
One way is by requsting or forcing ip change by provider.
    Another way I found:

    c/p

    No more help here.
From wat I read, they banned all the helping people.
    Novody here helps.

I am still here I wasnt nor were the majority of "helping people" banned!!!!
Obviously you have nothing to offer this site, as all you seem to do is moan, perhaps if you wised up a bit people will help you if you have a genuine question, preferably one that hasn,t been asked 100 times before, then I am sure people will help!!
