Hello there, I have the Goodfellas dvd which has a side A and a side b. Side B contains the second part of the movie. I was wondering how I can get both sides onto one dual layer dvd without losing any content and without compressing anything? I have Nero Recode and DVD Decrypter but I am unsure if I can use these programs to accomplish what I want. If I use DVD Decrypter, what mode do I use to rip the DVD (File or ISO)? Once ripped, how do I use Recode to join them onto one dual layer dvd? Any help that can be provided would be most appreciated. Thanks, BD6675
@bd6675 I don't know if you want to keep all the menus and extras, bt if you want just the movie, you can use Re-Author function of DVD Shrink: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/multiple_dvd_to_dvdr_dvd_shrink_page_3.cfm. You can also nero Recode, http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=62235 For this, you have to ripp the DVD with Decrypter in File mode. DVD Decrypter is better at burning DL discs, so I would choose it over Nero for the burning part of a DL compilation. Hope this helps.
Hey cyprusrom, Thanks for the quick response. How would I use this procedure if I did not want to lose any of the content? As if I was making an exact non-compressed copy but placed on one dual layer dvd? Thanks again, BD6675
go to videohelp.com look under guides .. you will find a bunch off guides for the exact thing you are asking about .
Thanks for the respnse. Yeah, I looked around in videohelp and I did not see a guide to make an exact copy of a double sided disc (Goodfellas) onto one dual layer disc using DVD Decrypter and Nero Recode without losing any content and without any compression. If you know of such a guide I would love to get a link. Take care, BD6675
That I don't know if it is possible with the software that you have. In doing that with Shrink for example, you lose menu functionality. There are different programs that will probably allow you to do what you want, but I never used them( I do my DVDs movie only 95% of the time), as I can find no use for extras or previews. If I want that, I pull out the original:~)!
