I have followed a guide to convert from dvd to avi. The file is created fine and it plays everything fine. The only issue I am having is that when I am watching the avi file, I can not fast forward, so I have to watch the entire thing. I have heard that is an issue with the avi not getting index. I am missing a step and is there anyway to fix this? Thanks in advance
Typically, AVIs will look forward okay ie. scan ahead into the AVI... They will, however, not be happy to go backwards :^( For playback in WMP for example, you can jump ahead (with the little progress-bar at the bottom) but, to go backwards is a pain. You mean, 2x or 4x or 8x fast forward (like a DVD player?) Doesn't work that way... Regards
