hey guys. i have been a member here for about a year now, i dont post much because i can find everything i need for softmodding just by snooping around and not wasting anybodys time answering repeated questions. so a big thank you for all the info the everybody has to share on here...THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!.. now for my problem.. i have searched and just cant find the answer. so if there is a link that i am missing please post it for me and i will take it from there. i have an xbox a softmodded w/splinter cell, worked perfect, i backed up everything i needed to and now i am putting in a 120gig wd hdd. i can ftp to the xbox and when i go to the e/backup/ms so that i can transfer the eeprom bin over, it is missing the eeprom. is there any way that i can get it back off the hdd so i can finish the hdd upgrade or am i screwed? i retried the back up process and still no eeprom bin. please help or can i just go ahead and do the upgrade with out the eeprom? thanks guys add
well. now i really screwed it up.lol...1st-the xbox worked great with the stock hdd and softmodded. 2nd-i wanted to put in a 120gig WD(i have done this before with my other xbox and works great with an 80gig WD)i must have lost the eeprom.bin because i could'nt find it when i ftp to the xbox. 3rd-i shut the xbox off and resarted it by pushing the tray eject button and i had the other screen that gave me the option to restore the MS backup and MOD backup. 4th-i did just that but i forgot to unplug my eathernet cable from my router and when i turned the xbox back on it wanted to go to live for an update. 5th-this is where i think i really messed up because while it was loading i unplegged the eathernet cable and now it is stuck on "xbox live is not responding""please try again later" 6th-i dont have xbox live and do not want it so what can i do to get things back to the retail state and just start from scratch. i dont want to put in a chip because i cant afford one and i cant solder worth a crap..lol... thanks for the replay's and this is just an update from the thread start.. thanks again.. add
alright this happened to me plug your ethernet cable in and go to the game that you were updating live with and let it update if it can if it cant try it with a different game, thats what happened with mine and i used halo 2 to update it and then i installed a 160 gig in that xbox
thanks Nu2Mods.... i tried it with halo 2 and now i have it back to retail state... i will have to redo the softmod but thats ok with me. i was hoping that i did'nt mess it up to bad. thanks again for the help... later add
