got a virus and tried re installing windows but cant format

    i got a virus and i reinstalled windows xp pro from boot cd. it format successful to stage where windows starts up xp scroll thing on bottom then screen went black, retried installation and went repair and did same thing then when i tried again it said it cannot detect hard drive

    please help

    You probably have SATA drives on your machine. This site will help you get going! Link

    Then you will need to do an actual format of the HDD. Read this information so that you know how to format the entire HDD. Link
