hi thanks for the quick reply in the device mager it saud dma was on buit not in the log not sure y however i uninstalled the ide drivers and reinstalled them same with dvd drives but still had the same prob must b something to do with the nforce4 drivers as i changed over to the standard microsoft ide drivers and seems b ok btw if drive is desinged and working good at 12x y slow to 4x? there only 1 other thing id like to know what it is ive looked at the log when ive done a successful burn and it still says alot of Queue again later. id love no if i need worrie bout this or not. log post under here oh and should i keep using the standard ide driver as nforce dont seem b stable? To answer your first question, it is recommended to burn at half the rated speed of your disc, example 16X at 8X and so on, however by burning at 4X it reduces the chances of a failed burn. I have the same burner as you DVR 109 and mine does the same thing, nothing to worry about. BTW.. I see your DMA is now on as it should be
