Ok my xbox got the e74 error. The last time i was playing it before i got it i noticed the graphics were getting a little messed up and then after i turned it off and played it the next day i got the e74 error everytime i tryed to turn it on. I did the xclamp mod just to the gpu and after it cooled down from cooking it and all that it worked fine. Well it worked fine for 20mins......then the graphics got alil screwy and i got the e74 error again........any suggestions?

What's the detail error code? The one you get from pressing the sync and eject buttons as outlined in the ultimate RROD thread (find it in the ultimate sticky)

You can try the penny trick on the scaler chip and see if that fixes it.

AV cable on a 1022 is a longshot, it's more likely the scaler (ANA) chip like Dollaz said. What bake method did you use when you redid the GPU? if it wasn't the version where you keep the fan on the CPU heatsink and bake for 15-20 minutes, then it may still be the GPU.

Ok I did the xclamp on two xboxs at one time.....mine that had the lower right red light with e74 and a friends that had the 3 red lights. Now they both wee done the same which is removing the xclamp from the gpu and replacing the thermal compound and using the screws and washers......then ran for 15 mins with fan over cpu letting the gpu get really hot and then disconnecting the fan and letting the system over heat.....once done they both started up and played perfect.....the 3 ring xbox is still running no problems but the 1 red light started getting distorted after about 20 mins and got the e74 again on two different cables......I haven't adjusted the screws or tood it apart again yet.
