It's a compaq ddp, and I just rebuilt a compaq a few years older this one, it had a non-standad PSU mount so couldn't be replaced.
hubskater: With a CPU like that you're not going to need a good GPU anyway as the rest of the system will hold you back. However, it looks like it only has PCI slots and no AGP, so you're probably out of luck, you'll need a new PC.

No, AGP and PCI slots, not PCIe.

agp is better then pci & your agp is 8x faster then your pci. i think your card is at least a 2x if not a 4x agp. why do you need a new videocard?

I have the ati agp 9600 pro on my older pcs and it has been capable of running every game I throw at it (it will choke on some of the newest games but so will my pci-e xt1650), but it requires a 300 watt power supply. But theres a lower level card the 9550 agp that will run on a 250 power supply. The 9550 is built using the same core as the 9600 pro. That might be something you might want to investigate and they are in the 50 dollar price range. It should hold you till you get a higher end computer that can handle a more powerful video card.

Try booting XP into 'VGA mode' and use the drivers off the website instead of the CD.
