Hi i have the intel 955 (or something like that) and it has 350m memory. however call of duty 4 doesn't work and it only needs 253(or something like that). i have windows vista. i managed to increase my graphic card rating by downloading the driver. is there any way i could increase the rating by getting a different one. ty
Have you verified from the game manufacturer that your card is supported. Just having enough RAM is not always enough. " . . .i have the intel 955 (or something like that)" Something like that is not enough information to provide an accurate answer. "is there any way i could increase the rating by getting a different one" What do you mean by "rating"? It sounds like you have integrated graphics in your motherboard. At best you might be able to disable the onboard graphics and install a replacement gaphics card.
It's the 965 and i have vista. therefore it gives a performance rating. i would love to change it but i can't find anywhere to buy it. i tried pc world and amazon.co.uk (i live in england) and i can't find it. without the driver for it it has performance rating 1. with the driver it is 3. so if i get third party ones mayby i could get it up to 6 so that my games would work because it only needs 256 mb ram (graphic card) and it have 350 (about) ram. thanks
get a real graphics card. the intel 955 is integrated. COD4 and other games can refuse to work if the specs are not met. and not having a proper graphics card is one of them.
Call Of Duty 4 PC System Requirements “Recommended Specs” CPU: 2.4 GHz dual core or better is recommended RAM: 1GB for XP; 2GB for Vista is recommended Harddrive: 8GB of free hard drive space Video card: 3.0 Shader Support recommended. Nvidia Geforce 7800 or better or ATI Radeon X1800 or better “Required (min) Specs” CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 2.4 GHz or AMD(R) Athlon(TM) 64 2800+ processor or any 1.8Ghz Dual Core Processor or better supported RAM: 512MB RAM (768MB for Windows Vista) Harddrive: 8GB of free hard drive space Video card (generic): NVIDIA(R) Geforce(TM) 6600 or better or ATI(R) Radeon(R) 9800Pro or better Get a new video card. BTW, IMHO the Vista graphics card rating system is worthless.
There are many new PCs that still won't run Call of Duty 4 even today. Make sure to find one with a Geforce or ATI graphics processor (even if integrated, those should do, just about) - as long as it's not Intel graphics, you should be alright.
