i think i have stuffed up my graphics card because when i try to play battlefield 2 it freezes at the menu and the screen goes blue and it makes weird sound and i have to restart comp manually . ----------------------- Pentium 4 , cpu 3.20ghz 992 mb of ram ,228 gb hd ati radeon x300 series
does the card have a fan on it & is it spinning? if no fan than how many fans in the case besides cpu & psu?
the fans arnt dusty coz i cleand them yesterday and theres about 2 fans maybe this will help you i was fiddling with riva turner the other day but i uninstalled it
when you overclocked the card it screwed up in the game, didn't it? what did that tell you as in too much ocing or too much heat generated.
i dont know if i overclocked the card i was just changing things in riva turner ... and then i uninstalled riva turner and now when i go to play battlefield 2 the blue screen comes up and makes sounds and i have to restart ... i just wanna know how to fix the problem so i can play the game
You shouldnt have been screwing with RivaTuner if you didn't know what you were doing. I'd say re-install your video cards drivers(delete the one you have first, then install). That should fix it.
ok im going to uninstall my drivers now but then a list pops up and says please choose the ATI driver(s) to uninstall ... there is a ati radeon x300 secondary , and my graphics card is a ati radeon x300 choose i choose that one and uninstall it ?

Heres the driver package you need. Makle sure to install net framework of of microsucks site for catylast center to work. http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/ATI_Catalyst_Drivers_for_Windows_2000XP/1058330408/1 This is the vga and everything ya need for ati radeon. Sorry would have gotten off of ati's site, but they are down right now. Also boot into safe mode repeatedly hittinbg f8 after rebootin. Then use driver cleaner pro to wipe the ati drivers...then reboot into windows normaly to install the vid drivers.:> Driver cleaner pro http://www.drivercleaner.net/
I have custom ATI OMEGA drivers, and when I was trying to uninstall the Catalyst drivers I was having problems...so if you're having problems un-installing, try to un-install the drivers with device manager. That solved my problem. Heres the drivers http://support.ati.com/ics/support/...5bda015a388f354cf62&accountID=737&deptID=894. Just install them after un-installing your old ones. Good Luck. OR the drivers ozzy posted ooops sorry didnt notice that at first ozzy
