Your graphics card has pixel shader 2. Code: # Pixel shaders up to 160 instructions with 128-bit floating point precision # Vertex shaders up to 1024 instructions with flow control For more info check this link.

What resolution do you play at? I also have to know your PC specs, CPU, mobo and ram etc. And tell me what your budget is.
hi ive got an asrock k7s41gx m/board 1 gig ram processor is Athlon XP 1900+ at 1.5Ghz. which im just about to update to ab athlon 3200 + as that is the fatest my m? board can handle budget not really a problem but still the cheaper the better
I also have the radeon 9600 pro and xt models and they definitely don't run the latest games. I ran into the same problem when trying to play flatout3, it needs shader 3.0. You would have to get one of the newer radeon HD cards, some of the lowend AGP models will cost about 70.00. ATI3650. But the agp models are getting harder to find as they are phased out for the PCI-e. You pay a premium for the agp socket even on the lowend models. The technology has certainly moved forward since the 9600. I have a radeon 4350 pci-e (cost 40.00) and that easily beats my 9600 pro which was (150.00 cost).
