    So I just need a little help with upgrading my graphics card.

    I just need to know which of the HD6000 series would be an upgrade against my GeForce 9600GT.

    Almost any of them, except the low-end variants (which are really rebranded 5 series cards)

    HD6670 vs 9600GT: +15% increase
    HD6750 vs 9600GT: +70% increase
    HD6770 vs 9600GT: +120% increase
    HD6850 vs 9600GT: +250% increase
    HD6870 vs 9600GT: +300% increase (two PSU connectors required)
    HD6950 vs 9600GT: +340% increase (two PSU connectors required)
    HD6970 vs 9600GT: +390% increase (two PSU connectors [including 8-pin] required)

    You'll need to be a bit more specific than just Acer, if you can provide the model number I'll look up what will be suitable for the power supply/case.
