Blame the change on Blockbuster's new policy of ordering lots of copies, then offering them as pre-viewed DVD's a few weeks later. They keep the rental in the original DVD case all the way until they sell it as a previewed. In the old days all new DVD's were transferred into the generic blockbuster DVD case and later returned to a wholesaler, at least according to the local BB manager here in Charlotte. The times they are a changin'.

 

blivetNC- & friends ! I think the case thing may be regional Here in central louisiana I'm still finding the cases & Most are the lockable /rental cases ! Occasionally they still have the yellow lock still in place along with the movie ! And most have the label/cover intact as well Recently they(BB) have been demlling =Destroying dvd's and dumpimg them with the cases ! some with the Dimpler of DOOM (DATA DESTROYER) or just scratching/gouging the dvd with sharp objects ! but I manage to find one or two that they missed so That's cool! If I thought it would work I's buy a resurfacer? For the scratched ones anyways ! I need to make another didving session but whether I can today depends on if my wife takes the truck!
