Hello, I'm new to the forum and the whole DVD burning process. I recently installed a DVD burner in my computer. Now I would like to start downloading movies and burning them to a DVD that I can play in my regular disk player(while maintaining reasonable picture quality). So I was wondering what is the best site to download movies from(preferably free), what steps need to be taken to get these downloaded files to DVD, and what is the best and most user friendly software to accomplish the task. If anyone has time to point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. Also, Nero express 6 came with my burner. Thanks in advance for any info, and please forgive my ignorance.
you have asked the age old question that MOST or ALL newbs ask: WHICH IS THE BEST? Well there are opinions but there are many answers to that question. I don't download movies anymore so that question will have to be answered by others..... but I can answer your question about what is the best software out there that will burn a copy(backup) or your DVD. Here are a few good ones that most people use to make backups: 1. CloneDVD2 and AnyDVD.....many people say that this is the best! 2. I like and use DVDFab Express..... simple easy and does a great job. 3. DVDDecryter.... even though they don't update this program anymore it's still the "King of the Rippers" 4. DVDRebuilder Pro..... this is more advanced and will give you the best quality video than all the rest! for a newbie I would go with the most popular one: CloneDVD2 and AnyDVD. you can download here: http://www.slysoft.com/en/....it will cost you money but they also have a package that will be cheaper for both programs!!!! it's easy to use and does the job! or you can go with DVDFab Epress: http://www.dvdidle.com/download.htm this is also a paid program but you'll be glad you did cause it's easy and also does a great job and it's a lifetime of free upgrades, like slysoft's CloneDVD2 and AnyDVD. There are sooooooo many other programs out there but these are the easiest for newbies...... just my 2 cents.
What IHoe said is correct. With the programs mentioned, and study of the guides availabe at this forum, you will be burning quality backups in short order. Post back your results. And welcome to AD!
