GTA 4 Texture Problem

I have Benq drive set at 8X speed, I played the game, while driving in a fast car, for instance the police car, the texture will be blend and blur then there's nothing then suddenly generates the area, it happens pretty often and it pretty much ruins the gameplay, does anyone have this problem when playing on 8X speed? What about 12X speed?

 

I'd reflash it to 12x speed, or the maximum capable speed in exchange for a louder xbox.

I remember flashing a benq few months back and you can choose either a faster read for the discs or a slower but quieter xbox.

 

Does this texture problem happen to u or anyone else?

 

i have heard its been happening to multiple people the only thing i can say was already stated reflash to 12x or buy the game when its released.

 

From what I have been reading on other forums... The problem is only happening w/ BENQ drives... They are experiencing lag and texture problems... no one seems to know why thou...

I would try as others have said and flash it to 12X and if that doesn't work then more than likely Rockstar will release a patch but who knows if that will fix the problem........

I am having the exact same problem. <BenQ 8x speed>

In theory, it makes sense about the drive speed not being able to load the data quick enough. I think this is a problem with open sandbox type games relying on on-the-fly loading.

Does anybody have a 12x BenQ that can comment weather or not they are having this issue?

 

After playing the game for a while, this texture problem seems to be gone, I tested it by driving in a cop car at fast speed, no major texture problems at all.

 

SO you are still at 8x speed. Do you think is stores small files on the Hard Drive. I'm playing with a MU.

 

Also, not conected to online.

 

Yes I'm still at 8x, I think maybe the game stored cache in the harddrive, what's a MU?

 

"MU" short for memory unit.

So... how do you like the game? I'm just starting out, (take girl on bowling date) and I love it.

 

Same here got the 8x benq but only played for about 10 mins then had to go to class. BIG MISTAKE now i cant focus ugh only 3 more hours lol. But i did see a lag when i was trying a car fast and then all the sudden a wall showed up. But other than that the game is amazing. I love how much more real it is. lol I was thinking that I could just superman it and knock over peds but ya haha the AI is tough as balls and so are the shoot you dead cops. Love the death cut scenes as well =) Just a yummy game

 

I like the game, it's realistic and all but the driving part isn't as easy to maneuver as previous series. Most of the time when I walk in the game I have to change the cameras to see where I'm going, it doesn't happen in the previous series where the camera is mostly automatic. GTA 4 has a sense of the Getaway(PS2 game) in my opinion, mostly with the graphics and the way the car hit the people. I just picked up a prostitute for the highest price of service in the car, I think $80? Just wow! No nudity though. Anyway I'm glad my texture problem is gone, maybe you gotta give it some time, or might be a harddrive cache, I have no idea.

 

Ya, I'll put the HD on tonight. I'm thinking that has got to be the problem. Then again I've only played it for about 1 hour, I'll give it some time. Are you conected online? And was there any update for it?

 

I bought my 360 2 weeks ago and I never connected to Xbox live, I just don't like competition lol, and honestly I don't like the Halo series. There isn't an update when I first played the game, I think it is because the last update I did was "Dark Sector" That game was released in March I think.

Ya the angles and driving kinda bringing the game down. But its still fun
