GTA Episodes DLC on Memorex sucks!!

This is more of a rant, and I just wanted to see if there was any1 else out these having the same probs as me..

Before I knew verbatim was the brand to get, I bought a pack of 50 Memorex DVD's. I RARELY have problems, but this GTA game on memorex is horrible!! I can't drive fast or it'll freeze, loading takes forever even after installing to HD, and textures takes a couple seconds to load up. Sometimes I'll see a big grey block before it "turns" into a building...

I bought a pack of Verbatim's and waiting for those to come in and reburn it. Should take care of the problem eh?

 

wow, really, memorex sucks??? who would have thought that....oh yea, all of us that have said it over the past 4 years....

 

LOL! try installing to your hard drive that will fix most of your problems

 

or just spend 15 cents more per disc and buy verbs

I had this problem on one of my consoles with Midnight Club: LA and that was with a Verbatim and the burn was good. It wouldn't load the road textures fast enough and sometimes there was missing dialogue in the cut scenes. A few people with the original said the same. At the time, the install to hard drive feature didn't exist, but as soon as NXE came out, I installed the game and those problems went away. Try it with GTA, as stuntman said, and you might find it works just fine. You really should ditch those Memorex though!

 

He already tried installing to HDD.

 

times are tough though wabash, its easier to just buy memorex and complain instead lol. but seriously, gta just has texture loading issues no matter if its a backup or not.

I have used nothing but memorex since day one. I have at least 80 - 90 games on memorex. i have never coastered one and never had any issue with lock ups. memorex is just as good as verbatim. people who have problems either use bad burning apps (not imgburn), burn too fast (faster than 2.4) or use a crappy burner. fact.

 

Ya Midnight Club: LA had rendering issues! I also have that on a Verbatim, and because I was driving so fast, the road wouldn't render fast enough, so it would disappear.

Nice try though on blaming your verbatim for that!

 

Hell, I went through a pack of 50 Memorex DL's and never had a problem. I am not asking should I buy more Memorex's, because I know the MAJORITY of the AD community will tell me I'm dumb. But I also do find it odd that I don't have problems until now. Well, I'll try out the Verbatim's and see how it works for me.

Well, it's also a mystery why people were banned, not to mention how many licks it takes to the center of a tootsie pop

 

they work sometimes. but thats not the issue with memorex. The issue is how fast they will kill your drive.

 

exactly! people just think "these work, those people that say they dont work are wrong!" When we say they suck, this is part of the equation that newbs dont realize. but hey groverfet, enjoy your memorex, clearly you know better than the rest of us

 

I wasn't blaming it on the Verbatim. I was just saying that's what it was burned to. I've recommended Verbs about 100 times on here, along with pretty much everyone else. It doesn't stop the "ImgBurn failing to burn" threads that start with "I'm using Ritek/Memorex/Shit discs and they won't work in my 360.........." though. lol.

 

You are a nerd for getting this emotional over what disks he uses.

 

the disc's dont suck necessarily. it also comes down to your burner. i can use memorex, although i mainly use tdks. but i believe its because of my burner that i dont have many problems

 

yea, but if his disc sucked balls before, its going to suck balls on the HD as well

Umm the new GTA episodes game is Wave 4. Thats probably why its not working.

 

Yeah, im sure the op knows what wave the game is. You should go back and re-read what is not working in the game.
