Well I pre ordered this game like 2 weeks ago, always liked the GTA series. Anyway, a bit after I pre ordered it via internet i noticed it has very high system requirements. Yeah I know i kinda made a mistake there, should've checked the req's before pre ordering the game.

I tested this at 'canyourunit' website and I got the following results:

Is there any chance my system can run the game?

You should be able to run the game at the lowest settings, beacuse Can you run it isn't always 100% accurate and doesn't take resolutions into account.

You would have a better chance of running it if you upgraded your RAM to say 3GB.

But since you are already getting the game, see how it runs on your current system before you upgrade.

    Hope this helps

what i don't get is why do people have vista?

1st, directx 10 isn't that different from 9 so graphics don't have a major difference.

2nd, it ups all your requirements. if you had xp, you would be able to run it faster, see the mistake you made?

i'm not disrespecting vista but honestly, people shouldn't upgrade. if microsoft is sooo happy with vista, why are they releasing windows 7 next year? makes you think doesn't it?

all i can recommend to you friend, is just buy the 2.5 gb and the minimum processor. or if your fortunate, you might be able to play but like ray92 (hello again) said, all graphics options probably have to be on lowest. that's assuming you CAN run it. :)

i'm glad i use intel, according to the image, it seems intel is more powerful

Yea, you will be able to run it, but on lowest settings, GTA4 looks like crap and the draw distance is really bad. I've rendered it unplayable on my laptop. I'm playing san andreas now =)

I agree with the above poster you should be able to play it at least on the minimum settings [IMG]

    just some info,

some developer's games will let you run it whether or not glitches will be displayed. some will give a warning then launch. some games that dont meet requirements will show an error message and refuse to start even if you could play it on minimum settings.

and under the PLAYABLE points, the game can crash if requirements are too intense for your system.

GTA4 ran, and without any warnings or crashes on this laptop, even though the frame rate was at a constant 10...lol

3GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz
    2.2 ghz dual core
    128MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ 8400M GS

so i think your comp will run fine
