Gtrom not working Help!

    Hi I am trying to update the firmware on an Original Starview on Vers2.57.
    I keep getting an error from Gtrom saying Failed.
    I am clicking on Version 400 is that correct?

    i use the 257 fixed on my original starview and have never had any problems try that !

    Thanks for that but I cannot load any update on Gtrom keep getting Error message " Update Failed"

    check all your leads and make sure your box is in standby

    note...this happened to me a few times reboot your pc and try again.

    Cable is connected properly.
    Turned box off at back and turned it back on, it then comes up ON and then shows 0069 Is this on Standby?

    Rebooted PC,Checked Null Modem Cable,Checked Com with LookRS232.
    Have Starview on Standby Clock showing.
    GTrom giving failed message everytime.
    The Bin files downloaded from Eamo are in Virtual Clone format Is this correct?

    Turn it off on the remote. Should display the time.

    Thanks did as suggested,now displaying time, getting same error.

    delete the rom you have and reinstal also make sure you open the file before loading onto the rom in case its in rar.

    Sounds like you have a rs232 cable and its failing , you need the NULL MODEM CABLE as it has crossover config

    Have you used this cable before to update a b0x ?

    It is a RS232 cable I thought this was the Null Modem Cable???

    Got into Town today.
    Went to Peat's in Parnell St never heard of Null Modem Cable.
    Jogged around to Maplin on Jervis St....Yippee got last one.
    Just upgraded firmware.
