Hi, the install game works great for backing up a game but how do I un-install a Game? Do I just delete the wbfs file off the Hard drive?
    Thanks

    Thanks

Already online again...Must have been Mediafire issues. Thanks.

    larrylje,

Just wanted to say another great guide.
I am brand new to the wii scene(x-mas), and followed you guide (to the letter)with no problems.
I didn't do the Dop-IOS at first, wasn't sure if it was necessary, but things seemed to work smoother once i did (with USB loader).
I had searched all over the net and nowhere else did i find such an easy to follow guide with current info. Thanks again.

Disregard my previous post. Everything is installed. Now im having 2 problems.

The USB loader just shows a black screen and then goes back to the system menu.

Neogamma wont mount the games either under USB. I have followed all the steps and my DVD burns still work.

And yes the HDD is compatible. This is really upsetting me and making me feel like i have wasted money on a HDD for nothing. Please help.

EDIT : NVM. I unistalled and reinstalled the USB Backup and now it works. PHEW.

Just select the game you want to delete within CFG USB Loader & hit the "-" button. It will ask if you want to delete the game so then confirm. Verify it deleted the folder/file(s) from your HDD if you wish.

If you're having trouble with USBLoader mounting/recognizing your USB drive AND you've confirmed the drive is listed as compatible using the link in Larry's guide, here are a couple of troubleshooting tips (can't say whether they'll work for you or not).

I had a reported compatible HDD (Seagate FreeAgent Desk 500GB) that I was unable to get mounted using USBLoader or NG in either USB port, so I returned it and purchased a WD My Passport Essential that had over 20 confirmations of compatibility, but it, too, wouldn't mount. Either I received an error after timeout, or USBLoader would go to a black screen & the Wii would reboot.

I tried reconnecting the USB drive after the Wii booted, and also while USBLoader was launched, but neither worked. As a last-ditch effort I tried the other (wrong) USB port to attempt the suggested tip another user mentioned where they received the "wrong port" error and then swapped back to the "correct" port to get their HDD recognized. While the HDD was connected to the "wrong" port I launched USBLoader & it immediately auto-mounted my HDD drive and I have had no problems since keeping it connected to this "wrong" port (the inner/lower USB port). I don't know if this is something unique with my console (new LU70 serial) or I'm just confused about which USB port is the correct one, but it's worked for me and I was finally able to launch & rip games using USBLoader.

It's a fantastic ability and much thanks to Larry for another great guide!

BTW, I hightly recommend the WD My Passport Essential drive. Small, portable, no spindown issues (though I understand this should no longer be a problem as of IOS38_rev14), requires no separate power supply & you can find them with the drive dock included (super convenience).

This is the issue I was having earlier this week and now it seems that I can't get the USB loader to load at all. I'll click it and the wii will simply restart. I've tried loading it with the HD plugged/unplugged, with the SD slot loaded/unloaded and nothing seems to work. Can someone please advise me on something I can check or do to correct this issue? It's strange that it was working fine and now it won't even start.

Larry a few questions if i may. But first your guide is flawless and works grrreat! thank you very much. first question: when i turn the wii on, the external is also connected and turns on at the same time. but the external hdd only works if i unplug it on and off after the wii is on. is there any way for it to turn on at the same time as the wii does and have it automatically work? When the wii starts i go to "configurable usb loader" option and it just resets itself back to it. and 2nd when i am playing a game and i exit, is it possible to return back to wii menu without having to restart the wii to choose another game? about half work proper but the other half i have to restart the wii to change game. (sorry it's a long message) by the way i apologize for posting on the wrong thread earlier.

    Hi everyone,
I have downloaded many games some scrubbed and some full to add to my HD, now the one question is do i have to use some kind of brick blocker to prevent future updates and can I upload other regions other than mine?

I completed the 4.2 tut and it worked fine. Thanks larry! I have my backed up games on a hard drive that was formatted with WBFS for an older version Wii.
How can I transfer those games to my new hard drive that is formated fat32....or can I? I don't have the ISO's anymore.

It took me a few but I figured it out.

Do the steps below to transfer the games from your WBFS formated USB Device to the FAT32 formated USB device.

First off I had trouble figuring out how to add the WBFS formated device to the application. So start Wii Backup Manager then go to options then settings. Now click on the Drives TAB. Untick the box that says Use Mounted Volumes Only (make sure the box is empty) then click OK to exit the settings.

Now click on the Drive 2 TAB. Then select Drive (to the left) and select the drive letter that corresponds with the FAT32 formated USB Device.

Now click on the Drive 1 TAB. Then select Drive (to the left) and select the drive letter that corresponds with the WBFS formated USB Device.

You should now get a list of all your games that is on the WBFS Formated device. Now go to Select and chose All. This should put a check mark next to all the game files.

Now go to Transfer and select Drive 2. The games should no start transferring from your WBFS formated device to the FAT32 formated device.

Once it is done transferring you are good to go.

I have everything working fine great guide, thanks a lot it's much appreciated all the hardwork you put in, the only thing I have noticed is a loss in quality in terms of graphics, the games on my usb harddrive are a lot poorer than the ones I have on disk. Is this a side effect of the conversion process from iso to wbfs? And is there a way where I get no loss of quality when playing games from the usb hardrive?

    Thanks in adavnce

    Haha...I have to agree w/Larry.

I've played ISOs converted to WBFS played off the HDD and ripped a few of my games from disk to the HDD using USBLoader. Having played all for at least a few minutes each (some for over an hour) I haven't seen any recognizable degradation in graphics quality.

Your questions are a bit off-topic, but do a search for Wii Brick Blocker and Preloader. Depending on how you've obtained your game files, some may have been patched (using something like Brick Blocker) and others may have not. Patching an ISO only takes a minute or two.

Preloader hacks can prevent update attempts and also allow you to play games from any region (regardless of whether you're loading games from disk or using USBLoader).
