    Hey this really worked for me, but I was just wondering, Would this also work with Game Cube Games? Or do I have to use another type of USBLoader to load Game Cube Games of the Hard Drive, Thanks Oh & I was forgetting, lol. I wanted to ask if I could also download games from other regions for Wii games, like from Japan & play them with USBLoader, if I can't can someone tell me how to. *Keep in mind* I can't play burned games do to the new Wii Model that I got. All I can do is use USBLoader wich was my best way anyways, cuz waisting discs is a pain, lol Thanks Again!

    The guide works great. The strange thing is I have an original New Super Mario Bros iso that played just fine with USB Loader GX, but now all I get is a blank screen loading it with CFG USB Loader. All other games I have work just fine.

    Anyone have the same issue with this game?

    Follow the section of...

    TRANSFER GAMES ON WBFS FORMATED DEVICE TO FAT32 FORMATED DEVICE:

    If you only have the 1 USB drive then you will need to transfer the games to your PC then format the drive to FAT32 and then transfer the games from PC back to the USB Device.

    As stated at the end of the guide:

    USB GAME COMPIBILITY LIST: HERE

    But FYI, I have a NSMB ISO that I converted to WBFS and it works perfectly - maybe try converting again w/Wii Backup Manager.

    I did what spike109 suggested and it worked!

    I was using usb loader gx originally and saved the iso files on my pc using WBFS Manager.
    I installed cfg usb loader, and used those iso files to put on a fat32 formatted usb drive.

    Not sure what happened to the nsmb iso file from extracting it out from WBFS manager, but anyway, thanks!

    Hi first post. I feel like I'm going crazy. Was there a different version of the back up manager in this guide? Or a different app. The reason I ask is that I softmodded a couple wii's a week or 2 ago. ANd have been using a different app to put the games on my usb drive.

    It accidentally got deleted and now I cant find it to save my life. I swear I got it from here. It looked different then the one you get in this guide though. Not saying this one is bad I had just gotten used to the one I had.

    It had an option to do a single file or you could select a button called "batch covert" Anyone know what I'm talking about. I only used the guides on this site so I don't know where else I would have got the app.

    TIA

    I updated the guide to include this new app. It has more options. I suggest getting used to the new one. I can't remember what the old 1 even was.

    Ok man I thought I was nuts or something. Even the pictures you had posted were different. But I didn't see that the post had been edited like some forums will show.

    Yah I'm using the new one now and its all good. Thanks for clearing that up and all the hard work on this stuff for us.

    Hallo there,

    First of all, thanks for the great instructions :)

    I have followed all the steps of the softmoding guide (4.2 firmware).
    I have also followed all the steps of the usb loader (fat32) guide.
    I have a USB Device that is listed as supported.

    And it works.

    But not always.

    I am testing with games that are listed as "working" in the list of games, and out of the 12 games I have tested, only 2 worked.

    Definition of "not playing": The usbloader "sees" them, recognises their name (was even able to download the images for the covers) but when you choose them and press "A" to load them, the loader said:
    Loading ..................

    and then the page went blank and nothing happens. (And the only way I have found to get out of that black screen is by restarting wii, pressing the power button for 5 seconds)

    So the question: Is there a possibility that I have done one of the steps of the 2 guides wrong, and only some of the games play, while others dont ?

    Thanks,
    Koyan

    Games that played:

    * WarioWare: Smooth Moves (2006)
    * Wario Land: The Shake Dimension (2008)

    Games that dont play:
    * Crash of the Titans
    * Gottlieb Pinball Classics (2006)
    * Wii Sports Resort (2009)
    * F1 2009
    * Grand Slam Tennis
    * Legend of Zelda
    * Let's tap
    * Mario & Sonic at the olympic games
    * Super Mario Galaxy

    Game that opened the first screen about securing the strap but stuck there:
    * Big Brain Academy

    (updated the post, and now will try to delete the next one).

    I can't help much but to say I have played....

    * Wii Sports Resort (2009)
    * Grand Slam Tennis
    * Legend of Zelda
    * Mario & Sonic at the olympic games
    * Super Mario Galaxy

    using CFG USB Loader.

    So you either have a bad ISO or the converting didn't work properly.

    All I can say is try getting the ISO again of the games that do not work and try converting them again.

    Also make sure you have followed the DOP-ISO section of the 4.2 firmware softmod guide.

    After following larry's previous guide and this guide, what more (if anything) needs to be done to run WiiWare games from the SD card (or can they be run from the fat32 drive?)

    What is the reccomended loader, etc?

    Thanks, sorry for newb question.

    I'm trying to put Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and Little King's Story onto my external hard drive using Wii Backup Manager. Whenever I try to add them to the drive it won't work.The log looks like this:

    (WiiFatDrive.GetTempFilename) Created folder K:\wbfs\RM3E01_Metroid Prime 3 - Corruption
    (WiiFatDrive.OpenVolume) Created Volume K:\wbfs\RM3E01_Metroid Prime 3 - Corruption\~CC24.tmp
    (WiiFatDrive.InternalWriteSector) Write failed 0/32768 4294934528 112 There is not enough space on the disk
    (FilesToWBFSFileThread) Thread Terminated.

    I have a 500gb device and I still have 308gb free. I also thought maybe it could be one of the options since both games are slightly over 4gb so I changed the Maximum WBFS file size in the Settings to Unlimited but still got the same thing.

    To install a VC/WiiWare WAD to the Wii system use WAD manager (or download VC/Wiiware game from shop channel).

    VC/WiiWare games can not be run off a USB Device. They are ran from Wii menu or SD card. To get them to run from SD card you need to go to Wii Settings then data management then Channels and move the VC/WiiWare game to the SD card (Do not copy).

    You need to set it to split at 4GB. FAT32 only supports up to 4GB files. Anything above it will need to be split to a second part. So splitting it at 4gb you will have game.wbfs and game.wbfs1 in the game folder since it had to split at 4GB.
