I like many mac users have been trying to figure how to burn using a mac. But when searching everyone simple says use parallels or bootcamp. Not all of us have mac that can run pc, so this is how you burn using a mac.

    What you'll need

Valid iso image, torrent it or make it yourself.

A dvd burner capable of burning 360 games. I recommend newegg. But the built in drive of most newish mac will work.

    This program http://www.wattks.com/macosx/x360/x360.html

    Step 1

Hack your iso image. So far there have been no programs capable of setting a layer break manually on macs. When you "hack" the image it adds some code onto the end of the image with the layer break.

To do this open up the X360 Hack program, select browse, get your image, click hack. It'll take a few minutes.

    Step 2

Burn, you could use a couple of different programs to do this but just to keep it simple and use the program thats included, its called Burn.

Go under the copy tab, open your hacked image and burn at 2.4x speed.

    My experience

I have burned a couple of backups this way and its worked so far. I just wanted to share the knowledge. Post back with your experience and critisims on the guide.

Btw, as a side note if backups work some of the time it could be your laser.

I have tried iburn 360, although its design is simplistic and laid out well it doesn't work. At least for me. I tried to burn a game and the program froze, my disc came out unreadable and it was a waste of time. If you've gotten iburn360 to work please share, it'd be much fastest and simplest method if it did work.

Yes it does for me. I have burned many, many games using it.

I have an older MacBook Pro with no dual layer writer though. I use an external Lacie Lightscribe firewire drive to burn.

I didn't use an external burner, so maybe that makes a difference.

Ok so the only DL drive in the house is my parents i-mac and my mom was being gay and not letting me install xp so, what if the iso is security patched etc, do I still "HACK" it first or what, or is hack just to set the correct layer break?

hacking sets the layer break so i'd hack it and try burning using diskuitlity but create a backup of it just in case the hacking screwes the iso up. unfortunately i dont know how to fix your mom from being gay.

Ok I am pleased to report that if you have the new aluminum imac, you can use this method and burn it with the macs built in drive, I made a copy of "an unnameable game" I obtained from my buddies who I don't really know, just their ip, you know exactly what I mean. Ok so I copied the folder to my ipod from my pc, had to format my ipod to NTFS, which renders it useless as a music player(its ok I have a jailbroken touch to), but the files were to big to work of FAT 32, so I plugged it into my parents beautiful new aluminum 24" 2.8ghz imac and unextracted the iso, used the X360 ISO Hacker, went into the included burn app which the hack package included, went to copy, dragged in the iso, inserted a Verbatim DVD+R DL disc, clicked burn, set the write speed to 2.4x and 40-60 minutes later, my 360 was booting halo 3, the unnameable game my friends online lent me to "backup". On top of that the game plays to, so far it remains unflawed and everything works, although haven't had a chance to test multiplayer yet.
So if you have the new imac, it burns the games natively, without the use of an external drive(with the ISO hacker of course), my point being, it can't get any easier if you own a mac like this.
Anyways, thanks for posting this guide, you rock!
One more note, I am running ixtream v1.4 on a benq drive, thanks again.

Cool good to hear, let us know if online works. I've heard mixed views about online play working for backups.

I have been readind this thread and doing some research. From my understanding the main thing a Mac burning program needs to do is to be able to set the proper layer break. I was shocked to not have seen any mention of a Mac Burning program that actually allows a custom setting of the layer break. It's called LiquidCD. I've seen mention of it being able to burn Wii ISO files properly, but no mention about XBox 360, no mention of if it's even been tried. Can someone with a little more knowledge of the whole mac burning XBox 360 games check it out? It can be downloaded here
