did you modify the firmware on your disk drive. if not you have to back up a few steps. That is step number one.

my personal testimony to backing up games:

have a mac intel processor. got some iso's and used parallel's to run imgburn. it worked but bogged my computer down horribly. used dagowatts program and couldn't be happier. make sure you are using VERBATIM DVD+R DL's. these are the only ones i use and have always worked as long as i have done the process right. the only problem i've encountered with dagowatt's program is that i can't copy games i already have on actual 360 disks. therefore i have to download their iso's and burn from there.
i have my box flashed with the newest firmware and have been playing on live since day one of modding my box.
playing halo 3 on live right now. so if you have the mac that the entire screen is the computer (you have the cd insert on the right hand side) you should be fine. i use the matashita drive which came with the computer.
hope that helps. thanks for all the great programs and this great afterdawn community.

It's not ripping which is the problem, i acquired the iso online, and its meant to be working perfectly, its just for some crazy reason that it keep buggering up at the end. I tried the disk, one of them seemed to work fine, then halfway through a cut scene I am now getting the dirty disk errors even though it is clean :-(
I'm using Verbatim DVD+R DL, the ones which are suggested for use, and using the built in DL drive on the new black macbook :-(

You must update your XBox DVD drive firmware. The problem is the new rip method: split video.

Does X360_ISO_Hacker work with the NME V2 modchip?

I think it must work with modchip. I coudn't test it, I don't know anybody who has one. I only tested it with different DVD drives (Benq, Hitachi, Samsung with different FWs). If you can, make a backup copy, test it and send me a report. THX

I've got the NME V2 with the Hitachi drive. I'll get back to you when I've tested it.

The safest and easiest way, in my opinion, is to have someone, who knows what they are doing, install a chip, like the NME v2. This is bit costy ( I paid €150 for min), but is also the safest as the chip runs stealth, so you should be pretty safe from being banned from XBOX Live when playing your back ups.

i'd have to disagree. i got my box flashed about 6 months ago and have not gotten banned and have been playing backups since day one. the only problem is finding someone who knows how to flash your dvd drive. the only reason i chose this over a chip is cause if i happen to get the ring of death, i can just un flash my drive and send it back to M$. with the chip there is soldering involved and i'm pretty sure they wouldn't take that back. but to each his own

so how do we check if a backup is good on a mac without being able to use some of the apps from a pc? And how could one rip a game on a mac? I have the burning down, but i dont like trusting something that is downloaded without checking it first.

i don't have the answer to the above posteed question i am just seconding his inquiry. i would definitely like to see a program that allows you to check the iso before i burn. there has to be something out there

There is now... It's called OSx360, and I developed it myself for that exact reason. It's absolutely free as well...

There is no ripping program for mac at this time, but I am looking into it (at least if it's possible). You can use Xbox Backup Creator with a KREON drive in BootCamp/Parallels/VMWare, and it works even using a ATAPI-USB converter with the drive.

but your software is for test purposes only. I'd like to wait to see a stable and efficient program before i participate in tests.

Come on now... I call it a beta, and say test purposes only because of the limited testing that has been done.

Just because something says for testing only doesn't mean it doesn't work. On the contrary, it works very well.

I have a few exclusive testers that already bit the bullet (as well as myself) and have ruined many discs until the program was considered functional. Most of those discs were ruined because of the Matshita burner that is used in many macs.

I downloaded and will be using OSx360 for my newest burn. I specified custom layer break at 1913760 and will report back with results.

I've been using OSx360 for a little bit and I must say it works fantastic. I had some problems burning a fully patched backup, I used iburn360 and X360 and they both had problems burning the disc. I opened up OSx360 and checked the iso, and proceeded to burn a new disc, it worked perfect without a hitch.

    Great job!

happy to report that i used OSx360 for the first time and it was a success. i downloaded the newest version and everything ran fine. i was kind of nervous because i was using a memorex dvd+r dl cd for the first time as well, but it all ran smoothly. just thought i'd report a victory.
