Guide: How To Burn XBox360 Games

you should just burn it at 2.4X no lower, no higher.

I don't have one on my PC because i don't need it at all. If you are backing up your own games then you will need it. Find it on torrent trackers and newgroups and places such. If you are getting your games elsewhere, then they are all ss preinjected. no worries.

 

Hi guys

I succesfully burn a game, insert into my 360 but it only plays the titles before freezing, has done this on severla copies of 2 games.

I am using mirror DL DVD+R as Im waiting for my verbs in the post so assume this is the problem but was wondering if anyone else had experienced this problem and there was another solution?

Also my samsung DVD RW does not support bitsetting, could this be the problem as I can't alter the booktype?

any help would be greatly appreciated,

if you're using ixtreme you have to bitset...so, yes that could be the problem.

 

that is the problem....ixtreme requires a DVD-ROM booktype be set!
junk the drive....you can pick up a new one that automatically booktypes for around 30$

 

my samsung drive doesnt state it will support bitsetting to dvd-rom but i dont have a problem with the 100+ games ive burnt with it. i just change the booktyping with image burn before everyday and it seems to work just fine.

 

i have decided to change the firmware of 1 of my xbox's

i burned my first disk but when i tried to load it it just comes up with "unreadable disk"

i then tried the same disk in my normal Xbox 360 (unmodded) it then kind of loads up then comes up with a message saying " please insert this disk into an xbox 360".

can anybody tell me if it is the disk thats no good or if i have made a mistake in the flashing of my drive.

p.s my flashed xbox still plays original games fine.

 

if the console plays original games just fine, then there is nothing wrong with the flash. what kind of discs are you using?

 

i cant remember the name of the disks but they are cheap!!

i actually have that drive sitting around somewhere.....yeah it burns fine.....im going to update this guide within the next 2 days to fix several of the issues with (imgburn ) sry its taken me so long im just neck deep in construction work!

 

do i have to have a Xtreme Firmware Update inorder to play burned games or is it to play online? is it possible to still play burned games without this?

if i have a bunch of files of rar, all i have to basically do is extract one of them and burn it and i don't have to use ss merger 1.5o?

 

in order to play backed up games (burned games) you need an modded 360, whether you use the ixtreme softmod or a hardmod is up to you!! but remember the softmod is free and will be updated unlike a modchip

so you cant run burned games unless you have the ixtreme firmware buddy!

bottom of your cdclone burning guide what is that book type and other things used for, i thought we use the merger if it is needed and then begin burning the game? is'nt that all to it?

 

Hi all, first, thanks for all the tutorials, they are really helpfull. I have a question about PAL and NTSC xbox360 games. With my Wii, i could convert PAL to NTSC and burn and play. Is there a utility to do that with 360 games? the newsgroup i have access to has mostly PAL games. Since i will be flashing my BENQ drive, does it matter if i put in a PAL or NTSC game? Thanks for any responses.

 

you flash the original firmware with the ixtreme firmware

look at the stickies in the 360 area for information on this, there is no point in burning a game until you have flashed the firmware

nope flashing the firmware does not make it region free

Hi, i have tried burning 2 games and both of them doesn't work on my modded 360. When i insert the games, both of them says " Unplayable Disc". I know that my Xbox 360 works well because i play burnt games of my friend. I used my Sony DVD RW DRU-800A to burn these games. My friend told me that maybe is the problem of my burner. By the way, I use Fujifilm DVD+R DL and tried with IMGburn and Xbox backup creator. Can anyone tell me what may be the problem?

 

find out if the drive supports bitsetting (changing booktype) and set it to DVD-ROM then report back.

you might wanna mention that mulleter will also patch the SS w/ iso's that don't have them (ie, downloads them AND patches the iso)....it's much easier then mucking around w/ SS merger, downloading SS files and all that jazz.
