One part I'm unsure of is w/ this guide is you need to format the memory stick w/ the psp - using the card reader instead you won't be able to.
Hopefully someone can chime in with another guide or what to do instead for this step.

I just posted this in another thread, so I'm trying here too. Maybe you can help.

"I had a bad idstorage for some reason after I downgraded my psp to 1.50 and couldn't reset my pandoras battery. It was auto fixed when I installed 3.8 M33 so now I'm wondering how I can reset my pandoras battery. I have the eeprom.bin that pandoras battery creator generated, so how do I set my battery back? I was thinking I could just make a new Magic Memory Stick with the eeprom.bin in the root of it and then try that, would that work and how would I do it? Please help me."

When selecting 3.80 M33 in MUX it will add the 3.80 M33 CFW to Memory Stick. You then need to exit the MUX program and run the 3.80 M33 update via Game Menu memory Stick.

The next update you choose in MUX will over write the 3.80 M33 update and add whatever update you choose next in the MUX Program (EXAMPLE: 2.80 M33 will be overwritten with 3.80 M33-2 if you choose to install 3.80 M33-2 update).

Hi, I read your guide and all the comments for it. Im totally going load some CFW when i get my slim.

There's just one thing i'm still thinkin' about, (I'v searched afterdawn and goole but i couldn't find a straigh answer anywhere)-

On the codejunkies website (where they sell the TOOL battery) they also sell this converter that looks really cool. It claims to convert any battery between TOOL and non-TOOL modes "quickly and safely."
The thing looks really awsome so i'm really hoping the thing works.

so my question is whether or not it will work (since it obviously softmods the battery) on a psp slim with whatever firmware they sell them with now (between 3.70 and 3.90 probably)

this is the codejunkies product page ATM:

Thanks for any help, and unbelievably awsome guide

What are you on about... NAND... flash0? The easy answer is "No" you'd just brick it, Fats and Slims are different to each other.

Hi.. I have a question to ask u guys. I have a psp slim with 3.71 firmware in it, i also bought a pandora battery and a magic stick that state its to unbrick a psp or just to get the cfw 3.71m33-2. and it worked, i got 3.71 m33-2 now.

but my friend just bought a new psp slim with 3.72 firmware in it. Can i use the same panodora battery and magic stick to help him get the cfw or i have to use a different magic stick sense his psp has a different firmware from the start?

if its possible, will his firmware become 3.71 m33-2 or 3.72 m33-2?

@tdawg: Sorry, but I'm going to need a bit more information before I can be sure of anything. Are you saying you set up your stuff, turned it on, and you got just a blank screen? If so, because you modded your battery (with wire and solder, yes?), it could either be the battery wasn't modded properly, or your memstick isn't set up correctly. You can recheck those and make sure they are set up exactly like in the guide. If you didn't have to type Y for the final part of the memstick setup, then your memory stick doesn't have the bootcode installed on it, and it won't boot, which is why I had a blank screen when I modded mine. An alternative method for setting up the memstick is on page 7, which might work for you. Good luck! Oh, and if you had some other problem (like you actually got the menu and selected the custom firmware and now it won't boot), then the only thing you can really do is try to install it again.

well, there are multiple tutorials to hardmod the battery, and the one i used, http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/591203, says to simply cut the 5th pin. Now i dont know if that was just a misunderstanding or what, but it says nowhere on that tutorial to solder any wires(if im not mistaken)

yeah, we might have shorted it out(touching pins 5 and 6) but it still powers on, but I'm sure we have the correct battery
