i'm a little rusty, but does square make it into a service battery?

i think it may be the memory card that is the problem. just try doing that all again.

i did the whole shebang on 2 memory cards 2 times each :/ the square dumps the nand into the nand.bin or something. not quite sure what that means... it originally worked the first time but i accidentally pushed square and yeah it did it's thing and now i can't pull up the menu to install the CFW

    Hmmm. Maybe its bricked :/

Connect the AC into the PSP and turn it on. Take out the mem stick & batt. If it is only a green light, your psp is bricked.

i thought if your brick your psp it wouldnt work with a normal battery as well... and my psp still works with the normal battery. just can't seem to pull up the menu to install the CFW with the service tool battery.

Ohh. so you still have a normal battery with you.

okay. so go to the battery creator and turn the other battery into a service mode one. (the one that isn't the one that works)

well i actually have the battery service tool that converts your battery to a service tool and back to a normal one. but it worked on the first try, messed up and dumped the nand, but i don't see why it wouldnt work anymore. there has to be a way to correct what i did by pressing the square button....if you know any error codes, after i dumped it i got a "bad block at page 72192 block 2256" and then it shut down :/ that happened on the first memory stick. i have then used my other memory stick but to no avail :(

ok. I have a problem. ive done every step. but when i get up to putting the memory card back in and putting in the modded battery, it still just stays at a blank black screen with the green light. Very frustrating.

when i try to just put the ac adapter in and download anything from game it says the error code again still: "The game could not be started."

I have a fat psp with 3.80 Official Firmware on it. Never had anything custom or any homebrew on it.

(4gb Sony also 2GB Lexar) many TIMES, followed the steps with the Tool Battery, Still a blank Screen, Green light, NOTHING else comes up. I also never had a custom Firmware, Just Official 3.7. Any help would be great. Thanks..!!!

It seems pretty simple, When I am at the part where it asks me to verify if the amount of space. It says that "access is denied" to drive 'f' which is my PSP drive. I have tried this five times so far. I get to the part where it allows you to write the information. I get a long list...I would say that it goes through a string of code.

It never gives me the smaller list or asks me to write anything where I have to press Y to confirm.

I have a PSP SLim running 3.80 offical. It's only when I get to the option to install the 3.71 M33-2 software. I already have a Datel Tool battery for my PSP Slim, I just need to be able to downgrade it so I can upgrade to the CFW.

Thanks. Attached is an image of what it looks like when I do that.

I'm still pretty new to this, but by the looks of things. It's not reading the eboot.PBP which should be a Pandora memory boot and ask you to write to the lower version. You need to make a pandora memory stick to unbrick it. If you have the Pandora battery already then it should be fine.

If you insert both and it's just a black screen, then there is something wrong with the Eboot.PBP for the Pandora memory stick, are you getting any errors when you try and run it?

I followed all the steps from doing extracting the files to the Memory Stick, Copied the file from the 'ADD ON'(deleted the unnecessary folder). Now i have the Memory stick done, when I put in the Tool battery.....Nothing happens..? I also did Vice versa, put in the tool battery first then the Memory stick...still just a blank screen (Green Light is on) Also, the wifi/Memory stick light does not flashing while putting the Tool battery in. I read most of the forums to see what could fix this problem, but seems to do nothing. What am I doing wrong..?

Honestly, the only thing I can think of is the magic memory stick isn't working properly. It should automatically boot into service mode when you turn on the PSP. So it's something to do with the writing of the memory stick, the Eboot.PBP most likely.

alright i figured it out and got it to work. simply just used another option instead of option 4 to do everything. worked. and to boot it up i went back to the installer and pressed the second option that it gave..everything worked. you dont need 2 psps dont need 2 batteries and dont need to originally have custom firmaware. thankz every1

    LMAO..!!!
I Got it. For those who's having problems with the Memory stick not booting when you insert the TOOL BATTERY or have a BLANK SCREEN with no Memory light flashing. Follow this..!!

When you are following the "EasyInstaller"steps for formating your PSP drive. MAKE SURE YOU TYPE in the letter 'y' when it ask you too. I kept pressing 'ENTER' that causes the Memory stick not to format correctly and won't boot up when you put in your TOOL BATTERY. So make sure you read correctly. When it says "Do you want to continue? [Y]" type in 'Y'.

Yet another example of users not following the guide to a T.

Make sure you follow the guide as is. Do not skim over it then reply later complaining that it doesn't work.

It clearly says in the guide...
