Guitar Hero/Rock Band Gear question

    Hey guys,
    If I wanted to play all of the rock band/guitar hero games, what would be the definitive or overall best guitar/music controllers to get? I know with each new game, new game accessories have come out, so I'm not entirely sure which guitar/drums/bass controller would be the best to get and so forth. Any coherent insight is greatly appreciated.

    get the GH II Xplorer guitars they work with any game out there RB OR GH!, the only music game i havent tryed myself and not sure if it will work for it the rock revolution but ive3 playyed all guitar heros and rockbands with the explorer, mics i dont think matter and for drums i have no idea how it would work out i think ud need 2 dif drum sets to use both rockband and GH but i am unsure on that.

    i've heard horrible reviews on the GH drums, parts breaking, hits not being recorded, etc.

    Correct me if I am wrong here.

    You cannot play a Guitar Hero guitar with a Rock Band Game or vice versa?

    The same for the drums correct?

    No idea, thats why this thread was created, seeing as I have no desire to purchase 2 mics, 2 drum sets and 4 guitars, just because one is the guitar hero version and the others the rockband version...

    you can use GH guitars on RB. not sure about the other way around.

    GOOD look. So basically, the Explorer, Les Paul or GH World tour guitar and your straight for all the games, and the drums your good as long as you don't get the Ion drum set...now on to the reviews, for quality...

    Anyone know if Rockband instruments will work playing GH5 on ps3? It wasn't listed on the list.

    perhaps you should ask this in the ps3 section, not the 360 one.

    My Rock band drums work on Guitar Hero 3.

    I will be modding them to add cymbols
