Why not just spend $12 and get a Roswell SATA controller card that we all know works well. On Newegg the reviews even state that is works well for flashing 360 drives.

Just make sure you have a PCMCIA port on your laptop. I bought so I can use my laptop and I thought I had this port but I don't. I'll sell you it if you need it. $15 shipped if you live in the US.
