Can anyone recommend some hacked ati radeon drivers? I tried the dna drivers (latest). Under device manger it lists the dna as the secondary monitor and reg ati as primary. I tried to switch over to the secondary montor and it keeps reverting back to the reg ati driver. So is there anything better or am I doing something wrong?
If they are hacked drivers, then they aren't ATI. What problems do you have with the ATI Catalysts? What card do you have?
I mean by "hacked" as in reg ati drivers, but certain features unlocked to make the card perform better. Im not really having any probs other than mpegs are a little funny...but I wanted to unlock the card to see what it could do. Not really oc, but just make it perform better. Its ati radeon x800xl. I dont think pro edition. :>
As soon as you mention the word hacked, they are no longer ATI Catalyst drivers, even though the core for the hack, is the Catalyst driver. There are a few places that hack the drivers, but I can't say offhand all of the place where you can get them. Your card is far superior to mine.
Ty for the link. I will check it out. Its just they hide certain features and its been discussed even here in this forumn....bout how to unlock them. I just cant find the post, but I belive it was omega drivers or something. I had a old 5 yr vid card with no memory (2 mb) and no 3d. The mpegs seemed to be flawless. Now I run this card and you can see all the defects in the mpg. I just want to see if I unlock some of the settings if it would clear it up. Plus I would like to overclock it slightly like I do with the amd. I have the amd moderatly oc to 2.46 right now...but I want to see how much I can oc the card. My bios dorsnt seem to allow you to oc the vid card. Games are excellent, but the mpgs are shitty compared to the 5 yr old card..lol. Oh well...at least its better than the x700 pro. I bought that today and mpegs were absolutley horrible. So I returned it and got this one...bit better, but not much. :>

You are welcome. I don't know what is going on with your card. Does it happen on all games now? Can you see those blocks in the Windows logo screen as the computer boots up?
Well I was just going to try gran prix or whatever its called, but when Im playing driver the tires on the cars and trees are surrounded by blue blocks. Fricking weird. Im gonna install the other one and see how it looks. The windows and everything else looks alright. The mpegs are shitty at full screen, but reg screen is alright. Maybe this is a bad card. I will let ya know on the other ones.
Have you tried changing resolution or reducing the hardware acceleration for the game that is a problem?
Yeah I did. Didnt help. Maybe its the game, but my neighbor that gave me it... runs it on his comp. He has a 5 yr old amd with a agp voodoo chip. So I dont understand how his older comp can run it fine, but my new 3 x faster cant without blue blocks. I did try a couple others....mostly older like doom 4 and it seemed to be alright. Maybe I will just wipe the drivers out and reinstall them to see what happens:>

TY for the link, but I already have the latest drivers. DDp made a interesting point in another post. Maybe the computer is too fast for these old games. I dunno. Im either returning the card and getting a geforce or just deal with it.
Then what do you think the prob is? Im running sweet right now. Very stable and I clocked 6000+ in 3dmark 2001 test. So what possible can be wrong? The last resort is I have a copy of 64 bit server edition and all 64 drivers, but I doubt the game will even run since its 32 bit.
