Had New DVD Installed to computer - Help Needed

    After advice on here to replace my two dvd drives on my computer my dad bought and installed the folowing: -

    ATAPI DVD A DH20A4P
    ATAPI DVD D DH16D2P

    Think they are Liteon's I think.

    As he got a special deal do I need to instal drivers/software/firmware as only the drives were sent (Why good price)

    Hope this is in the right forum.

    There are no drivers that need to be installed, but make sure that you get the proper master/slave configuration of the drives, when you install them.

    Then, go to the manufacturer's website to see if there are firmware updates for them. If there are, follow their instructions for downloading and installing them.

    It means that you have to properly place the jumpers, on the back of the drives.

    You set one to master, and than one goes on the end of the ribbon cable.

    You set the other one to slave, and that one goes on the second connection of the ribbon cable.

    There should be a picture on the drives, showing how to set the jumpers.
