Half Life 1 and XP SP2?

Does anyone know how to get this running? I tried the usual "expand autoexe.nt and command.com etc etc", but its still not working. It goes to menu, but cannot get ingame.

google help quite a lot. self i would write for example> game support for half-life 1 to windows xp

 

I've already tried google, and couldn't find anything...hence why i made this thread.

 

Does it not run or just it says please insert cd when you want to play?..

Does the game install ok and just doesnt run? Or will it not install?

I can think of a quick solution, which doesn't involve replacing your .exe file with a NOCD version.

Download the steam client, install it and enter your HL1 key, it will see what you are entitled to and let you download the game and play it....done!!

If you can install the game, do that first and then install steam, as it will see you have it installed and will not have to download it.

Which bit doesnt work on AOL? Downloading steam or installing it?

 

it says establishing communicatins and then somithing falied not something but carn't be botherd writing it.
