I just completed Half Life 2 Episode 2. It was better compared to Episode 1 as it felt longer and graphics were improved. The story line was dark, sinister & dramatic as it should be in a post-apocalyptic sci-fi game, with nice twists and contrasts in the tale, but what greatly surprised me was the ending! How could they have killed Dr. Eli Vance, a key role character in such a culminating pivotal moment, right before they embark on their search for the Borealis science vessel in the Arctic? Twice he tried to reveal something to Gordon about the sinister past at Black Mesa, but was interrupted and said that they would talk about it later! So what were those dark secrets and who will reveal them now, the G-Man? I prefer sad / dramatic endings over the smirky / corny ending we usually get in modern boring Hollywood films, but I think they should have saved such an event for Episode 3. Over all this is an awesome series and can’t wait for Episode 3! Anyone know of the release date?
yea bloody excellent ending i found it sad as well kinda sad of me but i sorta cryed felt soryy for alyx glad alyx didn't die
I’m really looking forward for this Half Life 1 remake: http://www.blackmesasource.com/ They say it’ll be out this year! http://twitter.com/BlackMesaDevs/statuses/2904435262 Which is a good thing, as I’ve never completed the 1st Half Life back in 1999! When I replayed it 2 years ago, I thought the graphics looked bad even for 1999 standards, so I didn’t play more than 2-4 levels. Even the atmosphere wasn’t as imposing as it’s hyped to be. Hopefully this enhanced version will be good enough to encourage me to beat it.
what!?! why the hek do u need good grafics to make the game good it was bloody awesome as is and still is i recon id fidn ita bit wered all like new and fancy looking
I don't, I guess Unreal 1 spoiled me, as I had beaten it prior to playing Half Life 1 so it just didn't look or feel that impressing compared to the imposing, dark / sinister, sci-fi atmosphere and incredible graphics & music f Unreal 1 back then.
