Half Life 2 Problems

    Hey guys right now i am running half life 2 episode ONE on my laptop and for some reason it seems to lag the same amount no matter what settings it is on. Low or High. My system specs are the following..
    2gb or ram
    intel core 2 duo at 2.0ghz
    nvidia 7600 gt

    Almost all of my background programs are off except for the SYSTEM, LOCAL SERVICE, and NETWORK SERVICES. i tried to set up a gaming accout on m comp where just the bare minimums run and for some reason its still lagging and this never happend when i played half life 2? any suggestions?

    Try adding some commands into the launch options (in Steam, right click, properties, launch options). The first thing to try would be (without quotes) " -dxlevel 81".
