[bold]We need a PCPSBOX console. Then everyone can enjoy all the crappy games out there....[/bold]

Duke Nukem and Doom (the first version for PC)were and always will be the greatest FPS games ever. 4 player no online play. But 1000's of hours of awesome fun.

"Now thats gotta hurt" Duke himself

Oh I forgot, most of you snot nosed little brats may not even know what those 2 games are because you were still breast feeding when those games came out.

    Just messing with ya'all

Atari Tanks and Pitfall Ruled ALSO.....

XBOX = Bog Standard PC with better upgraded video card. PS2 = Good gaming console, variety of games is much larger in comparison.

XBOX games good ones will eventually get ported to PC, Halo they said that was an xbox exclusive where did it end up... on the PC. The controller sucks to, even the N64 controller is better than it, the snes controller is better.

Halo is the only reason XBOX is alive, for a year HALO topped the XBOX charts here in the UK. That shows how crappy th quality is. It may be on catching up on Sony but PS3 with the Cell chip(already finished) so the machines will no doubt be up and running sooner than we thought with an estimated 2005 release date.

And yes I do think Halo 2 looks good, however. I can play Halflife 2 on my PC if I decide to get it. Or Killzone on my PS2, Pro Evo 4, gta:Sa. The PS2 has so much more going for it due to Sony's power in the industry they have had the almost 10 year head start in the gaming business... so give them credit where it is due for the success they have had, but you cannot simply think Xbox is now the console to own... some people will like the Xbox and others won't but it has never got the power or fanbase to dethrown Sony, but it does have some excellent games, and as they say games make the console... but the PS1 was firmly established and sony have built on that platform, Microsoft have a long way to go before they can think even think of Xbox being the best.

Yes I do prefer PS2, but I am making a valid point as to the fact that why argue when in industry terms it is clear waht Xbox have to do... use money to sign up dev's(more of them obviously) and not release Xbox2 alongside PS3.. wait to give urself an idea into the way it goes, then poach the buyers with a superior system at less of a price.

And as for Killzone, it won't match Halo. I have heard mixed reviews about it, I mean ur team can't even die!
To mearly claim it's a Halo beater was the mistake.

You know, we have some very experienced gamers in here sharing their views about the differences between Xbox and PS2 and then this old farty mc fart comes along and needs to prove how close his generation was to being trampled on by dinosaurs.......... ;p

    Replies add up like crazy..damn

brad1102: I know there are converters, i have about 6 on my desktop. What I ment was that there are differences between the two releases and I want the one that is supposed to be for the US. Besides, using these converters doesn't always work which means I end up with a coaster.

You know I have to agree with Ender88 on the PAL2NTSC converters. They are pretty buggy, and tend to work very poor.It is possible to change from PAL to NTSC,but quality of screen position and work put into making the region change is really not worth it.I don't mess with the PAL2NTSC converter at all,but from what I have seen it needs to be touched up a bit.

Right now, probably the two most popular games are Halo 2 and GTA: San Andreas. PS2 will never see Halo 2. Xbox may see SA, since we got GTA3 and vice city. So I love my xbox. But I also love my ps2. And I kinda love my Gamecube.

*sigh* but SNES and Genesis were so much fun....

ugh....i'm happy i stay out of all this crap and stick with my pc...all systems suck compared to the god that is pc. and yeah, i'm here to start more controversy and unite everyone else with a target both xbox-ers and ps2-ers can hate. to incite it all: kiss my ass.

and to the guy with the gamecube, i don't have one, but play on, brotha', and fight the power... :)

i've never been able to like gaymcube or pc, i just spent about $500 and built my own performance pc that can play any game i get flawlessly, but i just can't get into it, i like ps2, have for a while, it was the first of this generations consoles that i got, then i got an xbox, and i can honestly say, i've been playing xbox since the second i got one until about 2 months ago, never even touched my ps2, people rip on the xbox because of it's size....i don't understand that at all, i mean, what the hell does it matter if it's an inch longer and a half inch wider then another console, and it gives people like me pleanty of inner room to mod stuff, i put my mod chip in that no problem, then i opened up my ps2 and seen that everything is like less then a millimeter apart, that sucks, and xbox graphics still and always have destroyed ps2 and gc, not to mention that it comes with a hard drive, when i'm done with my xbox, i can yank that out and add a few extra gigs to my pc.

and as for killzone, halo 2, and hl2, out of all of them, halo 2 was my fav, the ability to play as the good guys and the bad guys is pretty sweet, as well as the dual wield, online doesn't matter cause you could go online with halo 1 anyway, and it was free... but i think halo is a mainly multiplayer game, they even have the multiplayer career, oh and the way you can hop in a vehicle in halo 2 and have a computer guy drive is awesome, cause you don't always have to be the guy who drives.

i got the ps2, xbox, and a really good gaming pc, but overall, i'd say the xbox is the best of the consoles, and not just graphics and stuff, but quality, i've heard of millions of big problems with ps2's that are set problems not just one or 2 machines crapping out, but the only problem i've heard of with the xbox was the thompson dvd drive, which i happen to have and it isn't that big of a deal anyway. really, the only thing ps2 has going for it is the game selection, i loved how much money i saved with the xbox, it came with the hard drive so i didn't have to pay for something to save my games on, comes with a broadband jack so i don't have to pay for a piece to go online or network with my xbox, my ps2 has just sucked more and more and more and more money since the second i got it really, but it does have a few good games.....

in all i play my ps2, xbox, and pc about equal now, i'm playing metal gear solid 3, need for speed underground 2, and halo 2 right now, overall i would have to say that both ps2 and xbox have had an AWESOME year for games, so many great games for both systems have come out this year, and lots of them were actually in the last couple months

game cube graphics are not that far behind the xbox' they are better than the ps2 for sure. I rather play unreal tourny for pc than halo 2, but that's just me. But you ps2 guys have tom clancy games that are multi platform to enjoy. No need for the hyped halo 2. What i do know is that San Andreas is a master piece, i'm not 25% done yet and been playing it forever.

gamecube has better graphics than a ps2 because it was released after the ps2

xbox has better graphics than a gamecube and ps2 because it uses a HACKED Geforce 3.

and modern pcs use geforce 6 or 7 if they kept counting. I have a 9800 Pro, that would have the power of the next console and when that happens this card would be obsolete for the PC. All we need is a gaming OS, or windows to go to gamemode were all the resources are dedicated to the games.

Gamecube graphics are pretty good. But to honestly say they are better than PS2... Maybe in some areas but PS2 pulls off the stops when dev's use all the power. This is an example, Psi Ops, I think that game looks incredible. But Gamecube does have some nice looking games, but the only reason I don't own a cube is that it has an awful lot of kiddy games. Xbox if I saw one really cheap and knew how to mod it i'd get one, DOA3, Halo2 & Fable would be the only games that are out now that I would want.
