    The FAQ for killtrocity mappack

    ************/////// Frequently Asked Questions \\\\\\\\*************

Q: MY MAPS FAIL TO LOAD / WHEN LOADING I GET BOOTED BACK TO THE PREGAME LOBBY!!
    what now?!

A: - make sure you have shared.map with all maps
    - make sure you have disable the Autoupdate!

    ****************************************************

Q: How much is this total, as I dont have a DVD burner, and dont have alot of space on my xbox.

A: 2.5 GB, with all needed minimum files to get the game running. (shared.map, default.xbe, <MEDIA> folder,
    <FONTS> folder,)

    ****************************************************

Q: is it an autopatcher, or do i need to do it manually?

A: All serenity patches will be applied automatically, IF you got everything set up like it is suppose to be.

    ****************************************************

Q: And can anyone help me to disable the auto update?

A: You can rename the E:\TDATA\45d3000064\$u\default.xbe into something else, or hexedit the normal halo 2 default.xbe.

    ****************************************************

Q: ok, did all the instructions, but when I load it, and try to play a map, it goes in black screen, then back to the multiplayer lobby saying that "Warning: 1337 message" for all the maps, cept the original maps, I know there all clean, I signed them all, the 7 SPPF files with the Encryptomatic Signature, and all the other maps re-signed themselfs after the autopatcher was done. when it didnt work, i even resigned all of them using the mass resigner and FTP all the maps back to the halo 2 maps directory on my HD. But still same problem, what am i doing wrong?

A: You are using the update of Halo 2 that is named Halo 2 Content Blocker. It allows only Bungie content to be played.
Turn off the Autoupdate while playing the mappack.

    ****************************************************

Q:When I try to patch Dawn of Warfare(containment) It says Source is not like the original.
When I go to play them NONE of them will work.

A: it has to be a CLEAN Containment.
Also, remove your autoupdate and it should work fine.

    ****************************************************

Q: what is the reason you're not supposed to have the update with this?

A: When running this mappack with Autoupdate, the new maps get all scrambled in the mainmenu.
If you disable the autoupdate these problems will be resolved.

    ****************************************************

Q: all the maps fail to load. what AU do i need?
and do i need the shared.map?

A: Yes you need shared.map, and preferable is playing halo2 without the autoupdates.

    ****************************************************

Q: I followed all the directions and the pack works great,... but lockout still shows up in the mainmenu and does not work. Does anyone have a fix ?

    A: No.

    ****************************************************

Q: Do I need a DVD burner to load these on my xbox?

A: No, you can also use the space on your harddrive to load up the maps. If you are short on space,
i suggest burning the content to a DVD. More info how to do this is in instructions

    ****************************************************

Q: Ok, one thing I am confused about is the order that I follow the different text instructions.
Help me with the order with these instructions. The set in "Modified maps",
there are some in "Remaining Patches", the ones in the main folder are "After Release of 3 missing maps",
"Execute before auto-patching" "Execute after auto-patching". What order do i do those in?

A: First do the txt in original maps. Second do "Execute before auto-patching". Run the Autopatcher. Make sure to Resign.
Third do the remaining maps instructions.. Then to get stuff running read the extra.txt and modified maps instructions.

If you think back to the painful process of patching/preparing the maps (I know its a hard time to think about, but be strong, we're almost to the answer)You'll remember that along with the multiplayer maps you had to patch(containment, zanzibar etc.)there was something called main menu.map that had to be patched as well.
this is where the map list is stored I believe.
so you can delete the maps to save room on the hard drive(hey if you know your not gonna play 'em, right)
but you'll have to find a way to edit Mainmenu.map if you actually want them out of the list.

Then you FTP your box and put it back under the maps folder.

Your right it is stored in the main menu so you would have to edit it to remove it from the map select

thnx cearel,I thought it was ;)
Do you know which utility you'd use to make that edit?
Ive looked into modding my own map a couple of times(there appear to be some decent toolkits out there) but I wasn't sure if getting them to show up in the menu would be a whole long convoluted process on top of making the actual map.

OK look go on www.afterawn.com which your on lol and search killtrocity, then look for Killtrocity mappack the easy way which is my thread and its the easiest and easiest way to follow on how to put the mappack on your harddrive. But if its just the mainmenu and its not working then open up remaining patches and look for like the encryptomatic signature. Now use that program with your patched mainmenu and fix the encryption. Now FTP this to your xbox and load up the killtrocity mappack and you should get to the mainmenu of it. Boom your done

    Hey guys. A few answers-
Q:How do you put the KTMP on a disc?
A:Well, you need a program called Xbox ISO i think and then Nero burner program, along with a DVD burner. You cant just put the maps on a DVD...sorry. You need to make it into an ISO which compacts all the files and the file is called w.e you name it ex: Killtrocity.ISO. Now when this is done you updated you firmware on your Xbox( the modded dash ). Just put that DVD in your xbox and it should load up

Q:How do you take some maps off the xbox?

A: A few ways. One way is to delete it from the folder and it will be on the main menu, but wont load. The other way you need to delete the whole pack. Then you need to add maps to the main menu. Im
