hello, i have an xbox that is modded with a xecuter 3 ce solderless modchip, what i want to know is how do i get the halo 2 maps of my xbox??? what are the best programs to edit the maps??? what are all the programs i need??? your help would really be appreciated!!! i no that there are already forums in here that tell you how to do this stuff but it isnt very good because it is really confussing at times and i dont understand it, if you are really good at doing this can you please help me??? oh and i know how to ftp and i can do it thanx spider15
well this is how i did it- i softmodded my xbox and i now have unleash x dash. i used dvd2xbox to copy halo2 to my harddrive. the i open i flash fxp and i go to the place where i stored the game on the xbox. then i go into maps folder and there they are .map files now in order to mod these maps, i would go with a program called dothalo. you can find this program at halomaps.com in order for dothalo to work you need to install .NET framework, you can find this in the microsoft website. ok before you do any modding make sure you have backed up ur .map file you extracted from your xbox. now open up dot halo and open up a map you wish to mod.i will say again make sure you backed up your original maps. ok lets say you want to change the shotgun bullet into a banshee bomb projectile- for this what you do is go to tag and you will see a list, scrool down until you find [proj]Projectile now open that up(click on the + sign. now when you look through you will see 'objects\vehicles\banshee\weapon\banshee_bomb' now at the top it says meta offset and there will be a code, copy that code. scrool down and you will see 'objects\weapons\rifle\shotgun\projectiles\shotgun_bullet' now change the shotgun's meta offset to the one you copied off the banshee bomb,once youv done that click save changes now click fix encryption once the encryption has been changenged, open up flash fxp and replace the map in the halo 2 folder with the one you have just modded. once the transfer has been complete. reboot you xbox and start up halo 2 and enjoy you mod ! if you have any question i will be happy to help. if you dont understand how to use dothalo then there are number of tutorials in this website! have fun
okay thanx that helped alot, so do you have to have halo 2 on your hard drive to play the modded maps?? so that wen u play halo 2 u dont use the disc??
nope i never have to use the disk, but yes you need halo 2 in your hdd inorder to play with out the cd. i only use the cd when i forget to make a back up of the maps!. good to know that helped you did you try that mod?
i havent tried it yet cause my laptop is gettin fixed, its broken some how, how do you put halo 2 on your hard drive?? i no tat u have to get dvd2xbox but how do i do it??
guessing you already have dvd2xbox all you need to do is insert the halo 2 disk and open the dvd2xbox application and it asks you if you want to save the dvd in to your hdd. when you say yes it asks you which folder to put it in, E/halo2 or E/games/halo2 choose one and then it asks you to press the start button to begin the copying. it will take a while. once the halo 2 files are copied it will eject automaticly signaling you that the process is done
well it depends on what you want to do with dot halo, cause there are various different things you can do with dot halo. i will have to find links so it might take me some time. and i would probably go for unleashx dash at i think is the eaisest to use, cause i got more opitions in that dash than evox but just to tell you i used softmodinstaller delux2 to softmod my xbox and unleashx was the best.
