Hi, I want to put certain Halo 2 files on my xbox harddrive but I keep getting errors[112 and 3]. I just want some single player maps so I could apply some cool mods to them. Is there a way to only put certain files or do I have to copy the whole game disc? Any info will be much appreciated.
I am having a similar problem. I want to copy Halo 2 to my hard drive, but it says something like "error code 112 error copying D". No I am not pirating it I just want it to load faster in campaign. Same prob w/ Battlefont 2 and other new games.
If I understand the question it sounds like your trying to copy files to the D drive (the disc drive) xbox games are write protected and the xbox drive doesn't have a burner. You will need to copy Halo 2 to your hard drive with dvd2xbox or via ftp. Then you can ftp and overwrite the Halo 2 maps with modded maps.

You need all the files. I know you can put Halo 2 on your HD via Ftp with only the multiplayer maps but I have never tryed to put just the Campaign maps. If the Xbox stock HD is big enough then you need a soft modded or hard modded Xbox. You go into your new dash like Evolution X or ect. Ftp to your Xbox with a program like Flash Fxp. Copy over all the files except the multiplayer maps. Then Ftp them back over into the D drive under the Games folder. Restart your Xbox and go under games on your Dashboard and you should find Halo 2!
Copy to the Games folder in your E or F drive, not the D drive (the disc drive). You can also use dvd2xbox if you have a large enough hard drive, or else cut down the game and ftp.
juss copy the whole game to your hdd, it should let you ftp the maps over then u can edit them.. or get the h2 map pack and ftp those maps over and edit them. they should be in the Tdata folder in the E:\ drive on ur xbox, look for a folder that contains two folders called $C and $U if u have used the map pack.
if you have a retail xbox hdd.. it should fit if you clear alot of crap off of it (extra apps, skins, game saves) if you have the halo 2 map pack updated on your xbox you can remove some of the update off (i suggest copying the whole folder the update is in to your computer, then removing the 1 or 2 of the 3rd set of sub folders, the halo 2 update should be in this directory, ftp://IP.IP.IP.IP/E/TDATA/4d53006/) there are 2 folders within this folder one is $C one is $U of course $U is the update for halo 2 (this will allow you to go back to 1.0 of halo 2 whenever u want but you can't play new maps on 1.0) and the $C has the maps, I'd suggest removing the one with the map called dune.map in it and or the one with santurary cuz those are the 2 biggest ones (actully the containment one and santuary one are about the same, you choose the one you want) after clearing up space then try copying it to your xbox...

my halo 2 on my xbox wouldn't boot when i didn't put the multi player maps onto my xbox.. and it also didn't work when i didn't put the download.xbe, update.xbe and the dashupdate.xbe file.. hummm
no it works, i juss cleared off enough space to put the whole game on my xbox, i edited the campain levels so the weapons are kick azz
