Halo 3 360 alternative

I do not want to buy a 360 so when will halo 3 be avaible on pc you guys think? 3 years? What about Xbox Portable? Do you guys think microsoft will make it and if they do will they have all three halo's on it and is halo 3 the last halo according to u guys...


P.S. Cortana says this is how the world ends in the trailer so does that mean it is the last one???

P.S. #2 Someone please answer quickly, I am a halo addict that does not want to buy a 360, although I am for having a pc with a 360 controller....in other words microsoft will make money.....

 

Halo games take forever to come out on the PC, Halo 2 STILL has not come out and will only be playable on windows vista. I doubt halo 3 will be on the portable xbox, although maybe Halo 1&2. Halo 3 is the last one yes. You will need a top-end PC to play Halo 3 when it does come out.

Yeah, thats for sure. Your best off just getting the X360.

What do you have against the X360?

 

yeah if you are not going to buy loads of games and go on to xbox live arcade and go onto marketplace then just get the cheap core system when halo 3 comes out but make sure you have xbox live b/c trust me if halo 2 is anything to go by then this game will be awesome online.

 

Let me explain my situation:

I have a comp that is not built yet that has:

-Asus P5GDC Motherboard
-1 GB DRR RAM 400 Mhz (my goal is to get 4 gb but thats not the priority now)
-80 gb hdd internal, 250 gb hdd external
-CPU (its the only thing I am missing; the intel 640, 3.2 ghz 2 mb cache, someone please tell me if this will work on my motherboard because I heard somewhere that it wont althought every other place I had asked said "ya it will work"...)
-420 watt power supply+tower that can carry 7 or 8 drives
-5 fans, althought I currently can only connect one (but thats not important for now..)
-Wireless set logitech keyboard and mouse...
-ATI RADEON X600 PRO 256 MB DDR Graphics card
-cheap built-in the motherboard soundcard
-2 front usb and 4 back usb and 2 back firewire

I thinks that sums it all...(I did not build my comp yet..)

I have this so why pay 500$ (canadian)
Microsoft is still making money when I buy halo for pc from them right? (which I already did and I have another problem my current pentium 3 pc has 16 mb times 2 according to a program I have called everest pro and halo says that I only have 16 mb!! It's working with almost all while screen. I can't see sh*t!!!! Someone please help!! (if I need to move this to a comp section, just tell me but I posted here because it relates a bit to 360)

AS for you motherboard any LGA775 socket CPU should work. The P4 640 is one of them.

ok here is what is going to happen

1. yes halo 3 is the last halo

2. no there will not be a portable system microsoft even announced they are not producing one

3.halo 2 is coming to pc in 2007 for windows vista only you will have to upgrade to windows vista inorder to play it microsoft is trying to push there new operating system which sucks

4.halo 3 will not come out for pc considering that microsoft wants to sell sell selll xbox 360s considering they can make 400.00 for a 360 plus additional 60 dollers per game plus xbox live gold do you really think they will construct a pc version and loose that money

If I where you I would use an AMD processor they are the best the market can offer in my opinion. (I love my 4200 X2!)

 

is there such a thing as a socket 775 amd processor and will it work on my motherboard??? Amd=another good brand who gives the same amount of power for a cheaper price??

To johnodd4--First of all im quite surprised microsoft are not coming out with that portable, I did not keep up with the news on that one so I must have missed it. I would have thought if they truly wanted to gain sales in the console market a portable device would be near the top of the list....Oh well

PLUS:Halo 3 will not come out on the PC for a long time but im sure it will do at some point(once the sales have peaked and fallen for the 360 version)

 

Also windows vista is going to screw everyone because they are going to use DX10 and it is not compatible with DX9. What does this mean to you? It means that x600 is worthless in vista. Its is not a DX10 card so it will have to be software emulated. The PC you have is ok at best but for vista its just not going to work.

 

the xbox 360 uses an updated version of dx9, it dx9 but with all the gaimg qualities from dx10. i do not thin this helps with emulating games, but i just thought i would let you know.

 

wow alot of talk .... n e ways dude youre better off going on costco.com ( im sure theirs costco sotres in canda) buy a 360 from there say its 500 cnd or 600 w/e play halo 3 for the next 4years then retunr the 360 ( get full cash refund NOT STORE CREDIT) and you re buy it by then its cheaper..

costco has a diffrent policy that is wiining all the other competiton...

you have LIFETIME WARRNTIES on everyting in costco... hell it can even me avocado return it and get full cash refund...

 

firstly have you tried this, or just heard it from someone else.

secondly do you have to become a member with costco, like makro.

 

yeah im a member thou... you pay 45 bucks yearly or buisness 99 or 145 :S and you also get 2% back on your total purchases... yeah you remember me posting this on the other threads?????
