who here agrees that halomods.com is a backstaber? They mod and then report to Bungie who mods on xbox live. WTF is up with that?

Uhmm no. They mod for fun, but people took advantage of that and cheated on LIVE, so they had to stop distributing the stuff. Blame cheaters, not halomods.

theres the key word "Mod". They mod and modders mod. Why rat them out? Whats the point? Are they trying to get something from Bungie or they hope by doing this Bungie will not shut them down? I know they just basicly have modded maps there, but do they really have to rat modders out?

You're missing the point, nobody ratted anybody out. Halomods did what they did because they wanted to stop the cheating on LIVE as well, since it's their works they don't wanna be blamed for. The cheating got so out of hand, there was no point playing the game anymore. Why would you think modders tell Bungie? If anything, modders try to keep this from Bungie because modders are tampering with Bungie's work and distributing it to people, and that is illegal. Maybe you haven't heard about the Ninjahacker case where they got sued by Tecmo because modders there were tampering the Dead Or Alive games. Modders there did exactly what the halomods modders were doing, by modifying the game's contents.

dude there work isn't on live. All there work is making maps. If they just make maps why be freaked about getting blamed? you don't join a game and see someone super jump every time he presses A and think "mmmmmmmmmmm halomods.com did this". All they do is maps. So if they can't get blamed for making maps then why do they want to rat out cheaters when cheaters don't use their stuff and Halomods.com have nothing on your site like that?

The site has programs that let you modify your Halo 2 stuff, not just maps. You can do super jump, no reload, switch rockets to your rifle, etc... People use that stuff on LIVE so of course halomods.com feels responsibled for it.

why should they? Every halo mod site has map editors that if you know how to do it you can do those cheats. Even most mod sites have halo map editors. On their site they have NO info on how to even use those cheats on Live. Why feel responsible then if your only one out of hundreds of sites that have those programs.

I guess because it ruins the game. When you cheat, there's no skills involved, where's the fun in that? Halo 2 is the best multiplayer for Xbox so I don't think halomods wants to kill it by allowing cheaters to multiply, my 2 cents.

I like to played a Modded Halo, but only over a LAN network. It's a blast to see the different and crazy ideas. When I play on LIVE I do not use the cheats(mods). It is really lame to win by cheating and I am glad that halomods.com is doing something about it. But there will always be some people who like to cheat.

Yeah man it was cool expressing our views. Anyway, the site is back up with all the mods. So go there and grab what you can before they do something like that again.. for good.
