I know most of you in that lazy, overweight nation are just waking up, so happy Indepence Day to all.. :)

    History Lesson

On July 4, 1776, we claimed our independence from Britain and Democracy was born. Every day thousands leave their homeland to come to the "land of the free and the home of the brave" so they can begin their American Dream.

The United States is truly a diverse nation made up of dynamic people. Each year on July 4, Americans celebrate that freedom and independence with barbecues, picnics, and family gatherings. Through the Internet we are learning about and communicating with people of different nations, with different languages and different races throughout the world. Bringing the world closer with understanding and knowledge can only benefit all nations.

We invite all nations to celebrate with Americans online this Fourth of July.

    Happy Birthday, America!

This one just got off work at 7am. Now It's time for a 4 day weekend. Stopped on the way home for some Red Stripe(Jamaican Beer) and some steaks for the grill. Bought myself the Toshiba A-20 for my birthday last week, now I'm ready to watch the Planet Earth HD DVD.
    Happy Fourth Everyone!

Well, its kind of a half-truth that Americans are overweight. Some (most?) are but some are really, really fit as well.

Anyway, happy 4th to anyone out there!

    Peace

Thanks Lethal! That's one of the neat things about living in Philly... just this morning I was reading in the park where the Brits use to flog and hang the yanks, put adultresses in stocks so people could throw garbage at them etc. All the locals use to pack a picnic, bring the kiddies and make a day of it LOL! I always envied you Brits and Europeans for the history around you everywhere. We're not even 250 years old yet while you guys have churches that took eight hundred years to build! (Sometimes I wish I had a time machine to go back and see how that stuff was done)... architecture and unbelievable artwork the likes of which we'll never see again. I've never been to England but I was awestruck in the few weeks I spent in Europe. Like people here though, I suspect a lot of people don't appreciate their history and the ages old marvels of art and architecture which one takes for granted because of their proximity.

@Pop_Smith ... I had some german musicians staying with me when they came to play with the Philadelphia Orchestra; (they do that everywhere so cut down on expenses and its a lot of fun). Anyway, they wanted to see a baseball game so I brought them and one of the german guys commented that, in his opinion, the reason soccer never caught on in the United States was because the fans couldn't get up every ten minutes to get something to eat LOL!
