hard disk configuration

    Hello I have recently purchased a GIGABYTE GA-73PVM-S2H motherboard and a HITACHI 500GB SATA hard disk.
    The bios recognises the hard disk tells me what the serial number is of the hard drive, so I know I connected the hard drive correctly. But when I try to install windows xp it tell me that the sata hard drive isn’t configured or some thing like that.
    Plz help. Thank you.

    when loading xp, f6 comes up to load 3rd party drivers, did you load the sata driver?
