in the end i went for LiteOn with 250GB HD. the good thing with this isthere are a lot of OS hacks out there and i also believe (havent tried it so cant vouch) that HD can be swapped out for a PC one (with a bit of fiddling). the box is great as standard and has many options inclucding freeze live tv (whatever feed you are recieving at the time), fit to disk etc....my only gripe is it picks and chooses when to recognise +RW media....sometimes says invalid disc so you have to fill the disc on apc with blah blah....once burnt it can erase record re-record fine. Just waiting for manf warranty to run out then will hack the daylights out of it...firmware, hacks are readily available...big plus for me was that liteOn drives have outlasted any of the other drives on my desktops.....hope it helped.
