Hi, I have orderd the X3CE chip and have a hard drive that is locked to another console. My question is If I get this hdd unlocked and then lock it on my console using the X3CE will it be locked to my console? If this post is unclear plese tell me and I will correct it Any help appreciated Gunmetald
If you want a hdd from one xbox to go into another xbox you have to get the EEPROM.bin file back'd up and saved to a floppy from the hdd you're replacing. Unlock the new hdd and transfer the EEPROM to the new hdd, lock it and then you will be able to use it. Getting the EEPROM will need to done via FTP (i.e. Flash FXP). A program that can help with the process is xboxhdm which can be found at http://www.xbox-scene.com in the software section. It also has a tutorial in the downloaded files.
One slight problem I have FTP'd into my xbox before but since then I have had No success I think it is because I cannot get a dashboard installed so I don't get a valid I.P address, Could anyone help me install the evox dash with my xecuter 3 bios? And then I will move onto saving the eeprom to floppy disk etc because I don't know how to do that yet!
