Hey, a friend of mine lost his hard drive out of his computer and currently does not have a hard drive in his computer at all. me and my friend both know that there are ways of recovering any lost data on a hard drive. but now the hard drive is missing. is there anyway to recover his past data like websites visited or past things downloaded txt documents or anything else? because we currently can not find the hard drive and really want to get back his infomation. is there anyway with just the computer without the hard drive?
Set the hard drive as a slave, and put it in another computer. You might be able to get the data off the hard drive, that way.
Sorry, my last post was probly a bit confusing. what it is, we have his computer here but without his hard drive. we have lost the hard drive yet still have his computer. is there anyway without the hard drive that we can find any of his infomation? since we are currently at a dead end. =/
no can do without the hd unless it was saved on the net like on his provider's server(s). how did you loose the drive in the 1st place?
Well, just found out today that he had placed his hd out of the computer to install a much larger 10tb hd. and when he turned around to pick it back up, it had gone. today he gets a bank statment through the door. and apparently, someone had been using his credit card online + his eBay acount was through the roof with purchases. my friend said that the only comfort was the idiot had mistaken his eBay username for his own and sold 4 cars on their. adding extra credit to his paypal or something *Not sure how it works* the police when explained to about the theft. decided to arrest my friend then saying sorry for not understanding what he meant and thought he had confessed. they then also tried to arrest me, thinking my friend had caught me red handed. while all this was happening. some pig crashed his car into mine and decided to just drive off. yeps, this was a police officer. i found this out when i asked to see the video tapes because someone had just gone into my car could they help. on play back, someone called out. "Oh my dear lord, is that P.C Barns?" *Police officer next to her yeels out* "Shut up you idiot" i was then told P.C barns was not going off duty, but he was working and was in need of a fast exit that involved police security. bad day... But ty for your help anyways.
