Hi there, I've already stuck a 120Gb hard disk in my xbox and it works fine but I've tried helping my friend upgrade his version 1 xbox and have encountered many difficulties. We followed the steps on copying-xbox-games.com and it seemed to have worked only for us to realise that where there should be 120Gb free in the F drive there's only about 25Gb. There is only about 5 free on the E drive and less than a gig on the C drive. Has anyone else heard of problems like this?? If so any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
Try all the different jumper settings on the harddrive. Most need to be set to Cable Select. I've had one Seagate that needed to ne set to Slave for it to format correctly. RustyDog
Cheers Rustydog - I'll give that a go! So when you tried doing it on cable select did you get a similar problem to me with incorrect sized partitions??
Yes, total size was limited to around 37gb when I tried using the Cable Select setting. The hard drive had to jumper pins, one for setting master, slave, cable select and the other for size limit either > or < the 37gb. Had to set it to Slave >37gb for it to recognize the whole drive. RustyDog
