ok a few weeks ago there were a few bad thunder storms that came through and lightning struck and the power kept shutting off and on and after that I found out that my computer had a blown capacitor that didn't allow me to use the keyboard so I couldn't even log on to windows, to make a long story somewhat short I ended up soldering a new capacitor and BOOM the keyboard is now working but now when its trying to boot up my bios recognizes my hard drive but a screen comes up and says ntoskrnl.exe is missing or corrupt so I put in my xp disk and go to recovery console to repair it but when I map it, it reads my cdrom as drive d: my floppy as drive a: but when it comes to my hard drive it just has a ? 238465mb \device\harddisk0\partition1 so my question is why isn't my hard drive assigned the c: drive like it use to and what can I do to fix this because with the drive having just a ? it wont let me do a chkdsk or nothing. thanks in advance for taking the time to read this.
