I just bought a brand new desktop yesterday with a 320GB hard drive but after all of the configurations it's left with 289GB. Now I've only install some programs and saved about 70 GB of some movies to the hard drive. So I should have about 200GB or so but when I look at my space left on my hard drive it says I have 165 GB left. Where is the other 35GB or so of space? Where should I look for it? What should I do?

vista (ultimate with full installation) by itself takes about 9gb, and if you have the system restore enabled that also take another couple of gb.

I think most of that space is allocated to the system restore.

I always disable system restore, it never worked once for me.
